Steve Bruce Speaks As Newcastle Head Coach And More Pictures From Training

Steve Bruce gave his first interview to NUFC TV after attending his first training session.

This is the tweet of a section of the interview along with a link to the full interview which lasts close to 5 minutes for those who are able to watch it.

What we gathered from this interview is that Steve Bruce is very calm and very pragmatic. He certainly sounds like a good man-manager and we can see why those who have played for him like him.

Though he has always accorded himself well in the press despite being in difficult circumstances.

He seems to have allowed the transition from Ben Dawson and Neil Redfearn to be smooth as he said he took a more observant approach to training today.

He also says that he has taken cues from Dawson and Redfearn on the status of the squad at the moment. It looks as if they are in good shape with only Dwight Gayle suffering from a slight calf injury

Bruce speaks of his regret of not taking the job after Bobby Robson and that it has stuck with him all of these years.

Steve also says that he knows he is not Rafa but that it is his job to try and move the club forward. While he mentions the loss of Salomon Rondon and Ayoze Perez, he does say that they are in the process of resolving those losses.

Here is a link provided by the club to about 40 pictures of today’s training session.

Well said Danish mag at 96. The owner has completely destroyed our club and with that the hopes of each and every Toon fan (unless their sole hope was for being involved in a relegation scrap season on season). I am now completely drained and am going into it without any caring for Ashley fc whatsoever.

Why they couldn’t give Rafa a fraction of this “alleged transfer” and allow him to build his project and sign Rondon (a proven striker with EPL experience). This decision defies logic.

Schar is the latest to be linked with a move away, well that’s what agent Bruce and fatboy will plan ton do, sell the quality players, reap the rewards and replace with utter rubbish like cattermole and fletcher.

To be fair, I think cattermole has more loyalty than Bruce and would never sign for the toon thank god – terrible footballer

Why are we buying a 36 million pound player when we could have had a similar one for 16 million.???? At least the 16 million one could get a minimum 10 league goals a season but the 36 million one is unproven in the Premiership.
The reason for the 36 million purchase??
To buy the protesters off. It worked with Almiron and it will work again. We think they have got a world class player for 36 million but we have got a Mitrovic. Fulham want 40 million for him. Nobody else wants big Joe apart from Charmless. It speaks volumes.
    Boycott the club
Players and managers are irrelevant. The cancer must be cut asunder.

Clattermole is a Joey Barton type player (although Barton had some ability) you want him on the pitch not necessarily for his skill, but for his attitude. One thing you could never accuse clattermole of is backing down or hiding when things get tough.

Mindshaft I hope you’re right. I just have zero expectations until the fat boy is completely gone and wouldn’t be at all surprised if we sign players of that level.

Anyone think the reports of 47 million euros is true … For an 8 goal a season striker in the German league ?? If even close you have to think charnley or whoever is buying are being completely mugged off due to Hoffenheim knowing we are completely desperate and have no plan B – he better hit the ground running it the fans ( home and away ) will be on his back

Having said that, I’d not want Cattermole at NUFC in the first place. Rather have Barton back, although he’s likely to do some time soon

ANY FAN who gets excited by the signing of Joelinton or speaks of giving Bruce a chance….

Nobody blames Bruce, the players, Joelinton (or any player that arrives)

    It will change NOTHING!!

Give Bruce a chance? THIS IS BIGGER THAN BRUCE!

    I understand the sentiments… It’s misguided!!

Support the toon support the slug.

The transfer strategy of Nufc is shite, its the main reason the club cant progress it’s a joke, Ashley’s strategy.

Can’t really see the point in breaking your transfer record on a untested kid,

We’ll probably go down because he cant get us the goals and he’ll be gone next summer.

The Toon fans are as thick as mince.
A couple of 30 million buys and they will be back.
    They deserve all they get.
The apologists are already out there.
RIP Rafa but we have got two new 30 mil players. etc etc.
He urinates in their faces and they open their gobs.

Because there was no chance of takeover happening – Ashley doesn’t want to sell
Toon 22 was right all along and it’s plain to see now, it costs him nothing to keep toon and he sells off parts of it and gets free advertising globally – it’s perfect sense for him , he has no allegiance to Newcastle – neither the club nor the fans

Big Mike wants a full stadium on 11/08. He has a high street business to bankroll.

Takeover? Ukn hell, talk about a stitch up, yea a victorian one without the anethtetic.
The pride in ourselves has to come in to this situation, it’s shaken me down to my boots this appointment of the Mackem.
I was buzzing for the new season a month ago, 360 degree switch around now.
Its in a our bloods this club, but it’s also drawing the lifeblood out of us.
Got to make a stand, I am.
