Many fans are waiting in anticipation for the announcement of Joelinton who was reported to have come to Newcastle last night for his medical.
Of course we all remember the situation with Loic Remy and his pending transfer from Marseille in 2013. Everything was reported as agreed but the player never arrived.
QPR had pipped us to the player at the last minutes. I seem to remember that it was playing video games with QPR owner Tony Fernandes that sealed the deal for QPR.
Well Mark Douglas of the Chronicle has tweeted out the following as a possible explanation for there being no announcement of Joelinton as of yet.
We're in that weird bit between fee being agreed and it being announced. Plus #nufc head coach and officials are all over in China, remember.
Given he's obviously not going to play tomorrow, it could even be delayed until they return early next week. But no hitches so far.
— Mark Douglas (@MsiDouglas) July 19, 2019
It’s good to hear that all is progressing but we would have thought some overzealous fan would have gotten a picture of our potential new signing.
We hope that Joelinton will be announced before next week though it would make sense for them to wait until Steve Bruce is back from China to do the unveiling.

Comment #5Why wait for Bruce to return? Get the deal done, get him a guide and let him find a place to live while the lads are in China waiting is ridiculous.

Comment #7Jib, agreed – I know why the kids and second string were played, it’s a Hell of a way to go to not get a game, but it’s time for the squad to get serious now and for the coaches to have a look at what they’re working with.

Comment #8Surely if he can get a work permit to play in Germany, he can get a work permit to play in England – we all work with the same EU labour laws, after all.
He can probably claim Portuguese citizenship through someone in his family anyway – that seems to be how young South Americans often get round the work permit situation.

Comment #11Where an application does not meet the published criteria, a club may request an appeal panel to consider the player’s skills and experience. In these cases the FA will refer the club’s evidence to an independent panel (please see Panel Terms of Reference and Operating Procedures).
The remit of the panel is:
To consider whether the player is of the highest calibre.
To consider whether the player is able to contribute significantly to the development of the game at the top level in England.

Comment #14Stinks of the usual lies, lies, lies mit smoke & mirrors.
As usual we are fed duff int to distract us and MA knows we will take it as gospel – even starting to create line ups with the supposed player in them.
He is evil to the core and a master manipulator.
Until they are in the Sports Direct corridor holding up an SD mug and bag for life take everything as deception!!!!

Comment #38Rafa has in the past made a point of trying to get business done early, now that the chimps have the tea party to themselves they are patting them selves on the back and telling each other this is how it should be done, look at how much other clubs have wasted in wages before a competitive ball is even kicked. What a shame that none of them actually give a foot about the club, Shola, Moncur, the lot of them do not give a fig for how the club is being run.
