Joelinton Deal To Newcastle In The “Home Stretch”

The Chronicle’s Mark Douglas has tweeted out the following update from Hoffenheim director of football Alexander Rosen. The comments originally appeared in Kicker.

Hopefully this deal will be announced on Monday and Newcastle can get on to other targets. There is still much work to be performed over the next few weeks in player recruitment.

Swiftness is certainly not a trait of the Newcastle hierarchy when getting deals done. They will have to work though that now as at least five players after Joelinton are imperative for this squad.

Today’s win against West Ham will provide a bit of a confidence boost but no one should kid themselves as this squad is in dire need of strengthening. We lack cutting edge up front and quality on the flanks.

Let’s hope Joelinton will be done and dusted soon. But they really should be working on multiple deals if Charnley can possibly manage it.

A procession of new players in would certainly be a welcome development over the next week.

It certainly would help if Charnley could work on more than one deal at a time… Unfortunately he can’t and never could.

Funny how they’d lined Joelinton up without any idea who would be managing or what style we’d be playing. Back to the days of buying players just because they look good rather than to fit a system. What’s Bruce’s system? Play 11 players and try to encourage them to win!

Yeah, but would he catch Yedlin if he was falling?

I bet Charnley reads over ever last detail twenty times. ‘Oh no Mike, they’ve used a colon when it should have been a semi colon. We’ll have to start again.’ And then Charnley has to type the entire contract out using one fat finger.

I’ve not commented on any of the pre season games. Funny seeing the reactions of a big loss and a 1-0 win.
    It’s pre season lol.

Disappointing to see the comments by shelvey saying how things have changed so much already and for the better. Wait until competitive matches start and then see how it goes.

Jib, Brucey is getting 90 million?

A penny for your thoughts… which four or five players would you like to see with that kitty?

I seem to be taking some flak from vantoonman. For the record I’m anti-Ashley but unfortunately he’s not going anywhere so I’ll still support the team and come on here to comment about games which surely is the main point of this Blog?

Job are those your requests or who you think? My father in law is a Huddersfield fan and he reckons Mounie is the worst player they’ve signed for years.

You twats keep pissing your little boy pants, because of 90mil… What is 90mil compared to where the rest of the money, the fat FCUK has been taken out for years?

Its like robbing a bank, taking out 100mil..
And come back with a small bag with 1mil and saying “here you go, now everything is okay”

    You twats.. it sickens me..

    Shame on you lot

Think Tavernier has improved but would’ve rather had back Santon or Mbabu. Mbabu looks a great player now. Another Benitez mistake. I rate Lazaar, Aarons and Saivet. I think Steve Bruce will give them a chance.

Jib posted about an apparent transfer kitty. I asked a hypothetical. That is all.

You went a little primordial there.

I’m not ok with what’s happened to a club and city I’ve loved for years. I agree with your bank analogy. Mostly I’m just disappointed and sad. But don’t let people’s conversations, questions and comments anger you. The world has enough people entrenched in their viewpoints lately.

We’re all on here for the same reason. We care about NUFC greatly. And we know the potential.
