Lascelles And Dubravka Speak About Impact Of Steve Bruce Over The Past Few Days

Jamaal Lascelles was interviewed after today’s pre-season win over West Ham in a very good all around performance from the team. The 3-5-2 formation really worked well and seem to get the most out of the players that were available.

Here is a link to Jamaal’s interview.

This is a bit of what Jamaal has said about the formation and the effect of Steve Bruce coming in.

“We set up a different formation today which I think suited us perfectly with our personnel,” he said. “All the instructions he gave us we tried to do them to the best of our ability.

“We’ve had him for two days now in training and straight away we’ve picked up and we’ve adapted very quickly.

“When a new manager comes in you are always going to want to impress. The workrate has always been there because that’s the type of group we are.”

This is a common theme coming from the dressing room as all the players will be looking to impress the new head coach.

We were very happy to also hear from Martin Dubravka as he has emerged as a leader in the group. It is also vital that we keep him this summer as finding an adequate replacement will be a tough task.

Here is a video of both Ben Dawson and Martin Dubravka speaking about the difference of having a head coach in place.

    Thanks Neil 🙁

    Joking 🙂

    Repost:

    *Sigh*

I thought this was all very obvious (what I’m about to say being obvious, not the state of NUFCs accounts)

Unlike almost every other EPL club (probably every other), we aren’t run on the basis of maximising the potential of our club.

We are run on the basis of maximising the benefit for SD and MA.

We know SD haven’t and don’t pay the going rate for the level of advertising they receive from their NUFC association.

It’s been mentioned on here and I’d very well believe it, that MA owns all manner of sub-contractors who provide services to NUFC and NUFC will no doubt be paying top dollar (or more) to these sub-contractors.

We know that SD receive most (all?) revenues from club merchandise sales.

Of course he’s not fiddling the books and doing something underhand to hide money being syphoned out. That would be bloody stupid and would risk him losing everything and ending up in prison.

He’s clearly not going to submit anything more than the bare minimum in terms of summary accounts, so as someone else pointed out (I think it was Chico?), we can’t delve into the public accounts to find any of this out.

But as Jail mentioned (and Toon22 does repeatedly), and as the above corroborates, we aren’t punching our weight given the money we’re receiving and what we SHOULD be earning if the club was focused on being the best it could be, and should otherwise be able to match the likes of Bournemouth etc in terms of spending and club improvements too.

Surely that’s all obvious to all of us already, so no need to be discussing IF or HOW MA is syphoning money out – he’s not (in an illegal way), he’s simply doing it all legally, just unethically from the perspective of how he should be acting on the basis of being the custodian of an EPL football club, which means so much to the community and there should be rules against how he treats the club (and hopefully one day there will be).

    HWA,
In trying to make me look stupid you are making an ass of your self, yes inflation, a 100K was worth a lot more twenty years ago than now but we still managed to pay Alan Shearer that without the colossal TV money, relying on commercial revenue and gate receipts, why can’t we afford to pay that now?

Hey guys , Does anybody think it’s strange that fcb is spending big on this new number 9 , is it because the value of the club has decreased due to Rafa leaving , and he has to put the money into the club so to keep any chance of a takeover happening anytime in the near future ?

    CAG,
No, he hasn’t spent anything yet and as I’ve stated before, if there is really 90M or 61m or whatever to spend this summer, why would he not have let Rafa spend it on who he saw fit which would have pretty much guaranteed us tenth and upwards and if we got the luck of the draw a cup run, what would it matter to Fatty if Rondon had no sell on value in three years time if he had any intention of selling,it would be an new owners problem who would be surely happy with the 50 goals the lad had scored. He does care though as he has every intention of being here as long as the PL is giving him obscene amounts of money to keep us treading water.

The advertising would pay for the things Rafa wants, if we were getting going rate, which Ashley simply won’t pay. We got relegated, which cost the club a lot, and Ashley paid himself back 30 million. I can quite easily see the profits going back in now, to keep things ticking over, 50 mill a season plus outgoings, it started with Almiron, we’ll buy again this window, but it still only gets you mid table.

We need to maximize revenue and do things right, as Rafa would say, to be successful. Not Ashley’s thing, unfortunately. He’s got to go.

Nice post. MA is without a doubt taking money…legal or not? I have no idea. But its amazing what a few good lawyers and accountants can shift, move, and change with ease. Its happens all the time in the corporate world. Add in all the parts the companies have been broken up into and gets even easier.

MA had no intention of keeping Rafa. I posted earlier about this. Rafa was loved by everyone and this the fans to focus on MA. With Bruce, as soon as he starts losing the fans attention and outrage will move to him and away from MA.

At Toon222 on last article- no I’m not mikeashleyisamackem, I do think he’s many things including a fat lying deceitful sod but a mackem not a chance. They’re too thick for starters and their day only starts at lunch time whilst MA lies cheats and steals all day every day.

I was talking to a couple of lads at work couple days ago and one mentioned that MA is unlikely to cut all financial ties to club entirely and will want money paid to him and would be more likely to want some serious investment initially then by being bought out a little at a time until eventually BZG owns the Toon 100% outright. It makes sense as he gets the money he’s after without having to be sole responsibility for investing in club and facilities
