Jamaal Lascelles was interviewed after today’s pre-season win over West Ham in a very good all around performance from the team. The 3-5-2 formation really worked well and seem to get the most out of the players that were available.
Here is a link to Jamaal’s interview.

This is a bit of what Jamaal has said about the formation and the effect of Steve Bruce coming in.
“We set up a different formation today which I think suited us perfectly with our personnel,” he said. “All the instructions he gave us we tried to do them to the best of our ability.
“We’ve had him for two days now in training and straight away we’ve picked up and we’ve adapted very quickly.
“When a new manager comes in you are always going to want to impress. The workrate has always been there because that’s the type of group we are.”
This is a common theme coming from the dressing room as all the players will be looking to impress the new head coach.
We were very happy to also hear from Martin Dubravka as he has emerged as a leader in the group. It is also vital that we keep him this summer as finding an adequate replacement will be a tough task.
Here is a video of both Ben Dawson and Martin Dubravka speaking about the difference of having a head coach in place.
?? "It was obvious, the difference having the manager in place."

Comment #85Jabba has gotten his own way,due to his wealth, for so long he has lost touch with reality
He lives in a bubble of his own choosing where he gets his own way every time
We are irksome to him, something he needs to bully into his way
He has no clue to what mess he has gotten himself into

Comment #88“There were lots of great things about Rafa, but the best I think was that he always wanted more for the football side. I think that is essentially why he’s gone”
Agreed. The cosmetic stuff that Rafa managed to get Fatman to do at Darsley Park was papering over the massive cracks. Fatty claims the Training centre is a “world class” facility yet players have ice baths in wheelie bins or children’s paddling pools ? Leicester have just spent £70m on a brand new training facility and even the makems academy puts ours to shame https://www.balls.ie/football/the-top-5-premier-league-training-grounds-328353

Comment #89Well he did say they where gonna try buying us another way , maybe this is it ? I still think he wants out , Something is going on . Come on when has he broke the transfer record , yeah I know it’s not done yet but maybe just maybe somebody has got a foot in the door to eventually take over and that is why there is money to spend , you know how tight he is , Do you honestly think Ashley would spend that much on a new player ? He would burst a blood vessel spending that much .

That’s cause the 18th richest club in the world has only generated 35 million in profit since 2010. MA really loves SD FC put just cant keep up those massive clubs like Leicester and Brighton.

Comment #96I would imagine that Ashley likes Joelinton because he thinks he’ll be worth more money in the future, maybe a shed load. Therefore 4 years not 3, as the player and his reps would prefer, and willing to pay 35 million. Might Joelinton be worth 70 million plus in two or three years? Ashley and co must think so, or we wouldn’t be in for him.

Comment #100So to me, Joelinton is Ashley going about business as usual. The high fee is just a reflection of the market, and we have the money now. I don’t see how it can be seen as linked with the sale of the club, without clutching at straws.

He’s a child – more likely an overgrown child still at home with his parents – from the 4chan school of internet upbriging, singlehandesly ruining the blog. Can’t say I remember him being around very long. Think he only appeared last season.
If I were Ed & Neil I would be engaging in some quality control because he’s surely driving people away from their blog.

Comment #109It isn’t strange to me he’s spending now. After relegation we had no money, added to that he paid himself back 33 mill once the TV money started rolling in, and we also bought Almiron for 25 million. We have 60 million plus the Perez money, whatever we’ve received up front anyway, all “available”, for the “right” deal.

Comment #119Bruce will have a better squad than Rafa had, and quite likely a better squad than 40% of other teams. That’s I think Ashley’s comfort zone, although I do think he wanted a better manager than Bruce, who I’ll admit I’m warming to, even though I loved Rafa, and all the hope he represented for better times in the future. Ashley’s the enemy, not Steve Bruce.
