Here are a couple of short soundbites from interviews from players we don’t hear from too often. The first is Yoshinori Muto whose English has improved considerably over the past year. The Japanese striker was excellent today and really benefitted from having young Elias Sorensen as his strike partner.
? A delighted @yoshimuto18 spoke to NUFC TV after scoring the winning goal against @WestHamUtd in the @premierleague Asia Trophy today.

This next interview is from the young brothers Longstaff who both got to play together in the Newcastle midfield today.
? @seanlongstaff97 spoke to NUFC TV after making his return from injury today – and playing alongside his brother @mattylobby48 for the first time at senior level.

Next we have some tweets from mainstays Jamaal Lascelles and Isaac Hayden. Also our Danish striker Elias Sorensen, who has been very good in his two appearances this preseason, has tweeted about today’s preseason victory.
Nice to end our trip with a win. Looking forward to returning home & continuing the hard work. #PLAsiaTrophy #NUFC pic.twitter.com/U9YgMth7qD

Good win today against strong opponents, thank you to the fans here in China and also back home watching, for the support #NUFC pic.twitter.com/CBD7ppFSqZ

We certainly have been impressed with Isaac Hayden who, despite trying circumstances for him personally, has really pushed on this preseason. If we weren’t eternal pessimists, we might even think he is wanting to stay at the club.
Jamaal Lascelles will be really important this season and his leadership is something that can slowly help to steady the Newcastle ship.
The pending arrival of Joelinton, who we hope can slot nicely into the group, should be next on the agenda for the club. There is little room for any nonsense by Ashley and Charnley in the market. They need to get these deals done and quick.
There are only three preseason matches left before the season begins at home to Arsenal on Sunday, August 11th. We hope there will be at least 5-6 more players in the Newcastle camp by that time.

Did you expect Rafa to stay here and fight Mike Ashleys relegation battles for him year after year?
HWA,
You claimed that if Mike Ashley was to spend money on a new training complex it would have to come from his own money, has the Bournemouth owner who is worth about five times lees or Delia Smith who has a fraction of Mike Ashleys wealth used their own money to build new 21st century training facilities or are they using the millions SKY is giving them?

Another that cannot read. I said exactly that in the same comment. We could so spend the budget on a new training facility. If you think there are falsities in the accounts, go and prove it or shut your incessant blathering up. C***.

I would imagine that is what Bruce is enquiring about regarding the fitness of AC.Again wages will come into play as I doubt Nufc will offer him anything like he has been on.And even if he proved his fitness now it is very unlikely he would be fit all season

Comment #135Yes I’m sure the honest man of integrity hasn’t got the books so muddled up that it would be impossible for even a bang average accountant to figure out. I bet they don’t show how much of those £65 shirts actually go to the club.

Comment #137andy carroll is now free agent and could be got on low basic with enhanced appearance money….at the minute we havent a centre forward …muto and likely joe linton are imo both number 10,s… when fit and on the bench as an impact substitute he would be worth a chance …he could fit in and bring on sorensen…interesting…

Comment #138Abel Hernandez would be a good signing on a free if we are desperate. I think we’ll sign Mateta for £30m after Joelinton.
