Will Steve Bruce Look To Championship Winger To Strengthen Squad?

Jarrod Bowen is an exciting winger who plays for Hull City in the Championship. He joined the Tigers as a seventeen-year-old when Steve Bruce was the manager.

Though only coming into the Hull City first team two seasons ago, the now twenty-two-year-old has already scored 36 goals. A left-footed player who plays on the right, Bowen is certainly Premier League quality.

This past season he scored 22 goals in 46 appearances with 4 assists.

Jarrod Bowen– would be a good signing

Arsenal were linked with a £12m swoop for the player a few weeks ago but nothing seems to have materialized with that.

Southampton and Everton are also reported to have interest in Bowen.

A couple of tweets by the Chronicle’s Mark Douglas in response to a fan’s question has fueled speculation that Newcastle might be interested in Bowen as well.

The link, though tenuous at best, to Steve Bruce is there. For £12m, Bowen could be a very good bargain in a position of need.

He most likely go for the manager who gave him his first
break who is now managing a PL side.
He was born in Leominster and started at Hereford United
so there’s a NUFC link right there !

Worth 20 easy. If joelinton worth 50 then he’s worth 70m. Being English his value will rocket if he does OK.

Always thought this lad is a good little player plenty of room for development. But dont you think its strange how much Ashley is throwing around this cash and ill correct myself it hasnt been thrown yet just suggested so yes it might all be another ruse, who can guess nowadays. I do think Joelinton will go through and if it does i just dont understand. What i mean is if we are throwing this type of money about and have it to spend why didnt Rafa just sign the one year deal with the hope a takeover might be pushed through. I do think he should of signed the 1 year deal especially if we end up spending a lot this summer.

    Two questions on Rafa

Where’s the £9.5m come from? Could you be accepting what’s fed to the press without wondering whether it’s got Bishop’s paw marks on it?

Assume you’re Rafa in this scenario:

Bearing in mind that Rafa and Ashley were at loggerheads after Ashley had offered a pay rise without any compromise on Rafa’s other requirements and Rafa, having told Ashley what he’s looking for in April, was waiting for Ashley to come back with a sensible proposal that might convince Rafa to renew his contract. Rafa waited and waited and… what would you do or say when everyone knew its end date?

    Would you

    A – accept Ashley’s terms

B – look for an alternative job

C – keep your powder dry?

For me regarding Rafa. I know he and Ashley didnt see eye to eye the trust had gone thats a fact and normally under circumstances like that in a work enviroment you would probs find yourself another job.

But i think he built something here for 3 and a half years, yes he didnt get everything he wanted. In fact he didnt get anywhere near what he wanted but that team played there hearts out for Rafa and in my eyes he achieved the impossible over the last couple of seasons, which i believe other managers couldnt of done it. So why not just do one more year at least with how it sounds there would of been money to spend and improve the squad. With all the takeover talk the affiliation to the fans he was worshipped here, by most. I just think in my opinion if it does turn out to be a summer where we spend a little dosh he could of at least with everything he has done and already put up with, he could of and should of stayed on another year.

We are in the market now because we have money to spend, whereas before we didn’t due to losing out financially after relegation and Ashley paying himself back the 30 million he lent the club at the same time.

He’d do well to ensure we strengthen a little every window from here on in and the next chance he gets to sell take it.

We’d do well to do everything we can to ensure he does exactly that.

That Charnley is a clever guy.
Holding back on signing Joe Linton to save a few days wages, give him time to enrol in the Geordie Language school and still have time to fly to China to get his Air Miles,

It seems the squad are rallying round Bruce and if they keep the same team spirit as last year, and we sign two or three decent players, hopefully we’ll do far better than the relegation many fans expect.

Team spirit, engendered by Rafa, played a big part in our recovery from the awful start last season.

Listening to Bruce, he doesn’t seem the type of guy that players won’t take too.

Bruce and the squad adopting a bunker mentality and a fierce desire to prove the doubters wrong will, I feel, be a strength this season.
