Steve Bruce Is Keen On Classy Centre-Half

The Sun’s Alan Nixon is reporting that Steve Bruce is very interested in bringing Preston North End centre-half Ben Davies to Tyneside this summer.

This is what Alan Nixon is reporting about the Preston academy product:

Bruce is keen on classy Preston centre-half Ben Davies as he plans some personal input into the players who come in.

Bruce was a huge admirer of Davies, 23, in his spell in charge at Championship level and now he has the cash to make a move.

This news has not gone over well at Deepdale as indicated by the tweet below.

Since moving from primarily being deployed as a left-back to centre-half two years ago, Davies has excelled at Preston. It seems that Steve Bruce is a big admirer of the player who would most likely not command too high of a fee.

Were not quite sure if he would be a first teamer at Newcastle initially. However, if Bruce is looking to utilize the 3-5-2 formation he used in yesterday’s pre-season match against West Ham United, Davies may be a good pick-up as a squad player for depth.

With Federico Fernandez having only one year left on his contract and Ciaran Clark due to turn 30 in September, this might not be a bad move by Steve Bruce. Maybe buying Davies now but loaning him back to Preston like we did with Karl Darlow and Jamaal Lascelles at Nottingham Forest would turn out to be some good business.

I’m starting to believe that this BZG group are full of shite, maybe Liverpool were right about them, maybe this is there way of getting free advertising.
If you say you’ve submitted proof of funds then how is it your now saying you need investors?

    Mr T,

Thanks for that….I learn something everyday
(I’ve been to kielder btw, albeit a long time ago)

I’d rather be known as a property developer rather than a builder (not that either are true…just sounds better)

    😀

    Nostra,

Not sure why you think that’s a bad thing.
That’s exactly how Ashley bought us. He took SDI from private to public ownership thereby adding a lot of investors, generating a lot of cash and spending (some) of it acquiring us.

If ( and it’s a big if, cos I have no idea if this story is true) BZG are trying to generate more cash from investors then than bodes well for them trying to buy the club.

NY – upside to the excess midges at Kielder is food for the salmon and trout. River North Tyne flows from Kielder Water. Big salmon and trout area. Think the North Tyne is the best UK salmon water.
Was up there between Christmas and New Year. Lovely place -before flying pest hatchings.
Lots of environmental stuff going one – such as the re-introduction of the water vole – whose populations have been devastated by that shocking, evil, horrible animal – I speak of course of the American mink.
The water vole had really no natural enemies – otters were too big to get down their holes, even the male American mink was too big – but the female American mink is smaller and slender and can get down poor “ratty’s” hole and kill all what is there.
I was going to say just mink but the species is the American mink – correct nomenclature is essential I think though.

Toma its call having a brain, looking st noth sides and looking at whats coming out and what fits. If you cant see how its possible BZG dont have the money then you cant be helped.

Also I find it hilarious that you are hinging on a few tweets they asked some unknown radio station reporter to disseminate. Phahaha!! Ooh the irony!! There is a reason they didn’t release the statements themselves. Just like there is s reason Ashley didn’t deny it, ACCOUNTABILITY. If shít hits the fan they also have the luxury of denying it all together, something they don’t have if they went the proper channels.

Some of ye are so blinded by Ashley hatred its making ye stupid asf. Wake tf up

Now knowing this, ask yourself why would they feel the need to release it through a small time radio station rather than through themselves if they are confident of a deal being reached?? Its a rhetorical question, THEY WERENT CONFIDENT that’s why. I wonder why that might be. Same reason we are now hearing they are looking for American investors, because THEY DONT HAVE THE MONEY. or because their money might not be legit. Or because its tied up, but ultimately they dont have the money.

Now add the history of them not being able to prove funds to liverpool last year. Enough said!!
