Guingamp forward Marcus Thuram has been signed by Borussia Monchengladbach in a €9m deal. Marcus is the son of former French International and 1998 World Cup winning defender Lilian Thuram.
Here is a tweet from Gladbach announcing the signing of the 21-year-old.

Newcastle were linked with the striker last month along with Everton. The player was made available by Guingamp due to their relegation to Ligue 2.
Thuram was one of the few bright spots for the French club last season scoring 13 goals in 38 appearances while playing mostly as a left winger and occasionally as a striker.
The 6’2″ right-footed Frenchman will turn twenty-two in August and Gladbach looks to have gotten a really good deal for Thuram.

Comment #43It’s plausible we won’t have an actual manager or coaches till chrimbo
It’s also likely we won’t be able to sign players
That’s if we’re lucky and they don’t deduct points to
Jabba thinks this is better than giving Rafa anything like what he wanted
It’s got relegation written all over it

Comment #44Or is all of this some kind of elaborate scheme for him to sell us somehow
Make sure it’s worth significantly less than before, and guarantee relegation
I can see why that might be possible lol

Comment #50Almiron is fine, Muto and Atsu are ok, Murphy can figure, but that’s your lot at this level, out of the forwards we have on the books.
Bruce needs 3 good attacking players, even Ashley must see that.

Comment #52Bruce won’t be allowed to be anywhere near us
Or his mackem coaches
The league will take a very dim view indeed due to Jabba riding roughshod over the rules
As s result we won’t be allowed to sign people
We’ve got what we have got
You think the coaches left will do better than Rafa with less players ?

Funnily enough as we aren’t a top 6 club, the rules will probably weigh heavily against us, but don’t discount the fact the Ashlie has a way of slipping his way through tricky situations, he makes Houdini look like a novice at escapology!

Amess is a strange one, he seems to be a personal friend of the Royals and the Pope, mere mortals like me have no importance.
Although I always get a response to emails and letters but I think it’s his PR team who respond, doubt if he even see’s them.

“It’s laughable that Sheffield Wednesday have reported Newcastle United to the Premier League. Like they didn’t know what was going on.”
You are correct sheff wed would have known that Bruce has his head turned i am sure.
However i don’t think they thought for a minute a fellow professional sporting club would behave is such an underhand and devious manor .
They, foolishly, thought that nufc would do the right thing and approach them and ask for permission to speak with Bruce.from there if it was agreed he was coming then go back and work out the compensation package on his remaining contract and that of his team .
Instead it looks like Ashley has pulled some low life barrowboy stunt and asked Bruce to simply quit and walk out to try and avoid the compensation payments.
Bruce doesn’t come out of this well either .Look at the way rafa left , saw out his contract , thanked those who matter and left with head held high, will always get a warm welcome back here.i dont think bruce will be going anywhere near South Yorkshire for a while
Be honest if Man utd had done the same to us and hypothetically poached our coaching team (i know i know) we would be raging too.

Comment #78An alternative view is that Benitez decided to cut his losses, leave the Geordie nation he professed to have so much love for to its fate, and scuttled off with his tail between his legs to trouser the easily made money in China,

Comment #80one fine day, my disdain for Benitez as a person (and a manager) is well documented on this blog, and while people such as yourself continue to hold him up as some sort of local hero, I will continue to offer an opposing point of view. When you stop talking about him, so will I.
