If Newcastle do have to go the free agent route for another striker this summer, there are plenty of options available that have Premier League experience. We have to remember that we are down three forwards this summer in Salomon Rondon, Ayoze Perez, and Joselu.
We have just signed Joelinton from Hoffenhemim who will be our new number nine and we also have Dwight Gayle returning from loan at West Brom.
Transfer target Allan Saint-Maximin, usually deployed as a winger, would also be able to play upfront though I wouldn’t recommend he do it too often.
Newcastle will need to bring in another player who can lead the line this summer.
While all of the free agent strikers have glaring issues, (I mean there is a reason each they are currently available) some of them could do a decent job under the right circumstances.
We have compiled a list of six current free agent strikers who have at one time played in the Premier League. Most of them have played for some of the upper echelon clubs in England. Most have even been linked with Newcastle at one time or another.
All are aged between 28-30 and admittedly have their best years behind them.
However on say a two year contract, which of the following six strikers would you choose as a free agent signing this summer? This is assuming that Newcastle are unable or unwilling to purchase another out and out striker this summer.
We see a few of the choices as probably unrealistic, especially Mario Balotelli. However we feel Andy Carroll, Danny Welbeck, or even Abel Hernandez could be decent options as cover or a late game substitution.
What do you think? If you had to choose, who would you go for from the following six?

We’ve had words before, over nothing more than a difference of opinion.
I agree with what your saying, yet I dont think a lot of people see the bigger picture.
I wouldn’t say i have “mates” on here, i dont regularly interact with the same people or agree with all their posts or look for acceptance. I may disagree with the same people so I should have enemies
I think it just looks that way as I and yourself and others have posted for years so people understand where I’m or you are coming from.
I met jail in person tonight, we actually laughed at the perception we had of each other before we met.
He made a really good point.
Its hard to gauge what a lot of stuff on here means or is intended to imply, when you cant see someones face or their reactions etc, it’s easy when your face to face.
At the same time certain people know this and the buttons to push.

Yeah we have had run ins and agreed the odd time 🙂 Its opinion I suppose.
Some may not realise how they come across in print Tsunki acknowledged point but was he joking who knows?!
Bobby was hounded by some on here some years ago to the extent he left Blog for awhile. Possibly a misunderstanding at the root of it but it was all just a laugh that he did.
Yeah Social Media can be unforgiving but for us all surely the reason we post is our love of NUFC
Living away from home it’s my only chance to “chat” NUFC with other fans but it gets so irritating and depressing at times that I stop posting and for a time even reading it.
What should be therapy ends up may my me feel like I need it 😉

Comment #177I do feel it’s like ground hog day on here. Same people arguing the same sh1te with the same people. We all have the same love for the club not the fat knob who owns it. I thought we were meant to be United. We won’t be able to organise f all as a fan base if this is how it’s going to go.
I want to come onto the blog talk footy and have a laugh but it’s clear people come on here just to vent!

Comment #182On the donation debate for materials to distribute.
The Problem is when it comes to money by way of donations, every penny needs accounting for and a responsible person who’s full time job it would be to implement that.
Very difficult. Especially where social media is concerned. Hopefully it happens. We need those stickers plastered everywhere. There’s already a lad lined up in shirebrook ready to do the deed.
I wonder who that is…

Comment #184With regards to ASM, personally I would much prefer a skillful player who can beat a man even if his end product is lacking than a grafter who tracks back but offers predictability and no flair going forward.
You can’t train skill into a player but you can ttain them to track back and produce end product.
Ronaldo always had the skill but in his first season at Man U he was little more than a step-over masterclass with very limited end product. Not been too shabby since mind.

I know what you mean, passionate people will clash. Theres nothing wrong with that, I’ve learned more arguing with people than agreeing with them.
I’m not George Caulkin or Bladey so at times i find it hard to express in words what I’m trying to get across.
After tonight it’s made me realise that, so I may not post again as I’ll be editing one post for a year.

Comment #187It’s astonishing that Baloney, having been asked to behave himself – by The Blog’s assistant editor no less – just won’t listen. And he still does it.
And to add to the fun, Bill’s Son etc chimes in to challenge Neil but not just that questions his right to post what he [Neil] seems appropriate.
We could be kind and blame the heat but I’d suggest there’s more to those two (or one) than meets the eye.

Rafa was (For NUFC) the best thing since sliced bread – had the fat shopkeeper listened to Rafa’s advice instead of choosing to go in another direction (Steve Bruce) I recon within two seasons we would have been pushing for a place in the top six of the EPL!
Now I’d say within two seasons we will be down in the Championship and heading in the direction on Sunderland. we may hang around this season but just you wait and see………
As a matter of interest I’ve always found the following to have valid & interesting posts.

Comment #192OP: my comedy value:
How about Tsunki’s.
The love child of Jimmy Krankie (yes I know she is a woman over18) and the Siamese triplets of Bobby Ball, Jonathon Ross after 20 years on the couch and Rowan Atkinson in Maigret.
Yes Baldrick, I know Maigret isn’t supposed to be a comedy but it also shouldn’t be a bunch of c@ckneys following a man with a pipe around Paris. What’s the point of that?
