Report – Newcastle To Make Second Signing Today

Football Insider are reporting as an exclusive that former Chelsea midfielder Kyle Scott will sign a two-year contract with Newcastle today.

Here is the tweet they have sent out with a link to the article.

Football Insider state that a source inside Newcastle has told them that the free agent is set to sign today. They do not reveal if it will be announced however.

Kyle Scott is a versatile midfielder who can play either in attack or more defensively. The 21-year-old is a former U20 US international though he was born in Bath.

Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke also broke the news earlier this month that Kyle Scott had agreed terms with Newcastle as well as that he had completed his medical.

You can terminate and come to an agreement with the player, pay half upfront. More often than not players take it as they get a deal elsewhere and are quid in

I’d cash in on murphy whilst we still can, for the amount we would get for him we could go and get Bowen, or even better just do swap deal with no money involved

Dont know much about this lad, not sure if anyone can fill in the knowledge gaps?

Considering they have a transfer ban seems a little odd that they’d be happy to let players go so easily unless it’s to shift the amount of loaned players off books into sold, so they dont get another ban

Or Toon, Ed mentions he’s a free agent so seems to have run his contract down or been deemed surplus to requirements.

Funny if we end up replacing Colback with a player who does exactly the same.

Not sure how he’s an upgrade for us, honestly. He won’t be coming to be in the development squad, surely.

We’d do well to get half of what we paid for Murphy back. Bowen will cost £15m. No way would Hull entertain a straight swap.

No ambitions at all, just stay up in P/league.
What a waste of a club with the slug running things.
The fans will drift back as it is a way of life to mist and the Barsteward knows it and exploits our weakness.
    So sad.

There was a legal case. If you sign a player for 5 years at 25000 a week and it turns out they are useless, the club has to pay up the full contract to get them off the books. So if they have 4 years to run that would be about £5m.

It’s a bit loaded in favour of the player.

We had 8 players on loan last season… just add up some of the numbers to see how past decisions impact on how much is available for new players.

Get St Max in, get Sidebe and a good Lb and DM and Bring Carroll in and I’ll be content.
