Three local journalists are reporting issues with Newcastle’s pursuit of Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen.
Liam Kennedy has written in the Shields Gazette that Newcastle are unwilling to match the Hull’s £20m fee for the twenty-two-year-old.
Lee Ryder with the Chronicle also echoes those sentiments and has sent the following tweet on this development.
#nufc are refusing to pay the £20million asking price for Hull's Jarrod Bowen.

Keith Downie with Sky Sports is reporting that Jarrod Bowen is on the back burner for now. That may be due to the reported asking price.
Newcastle back in for PSG left-back Stanley N’Soki. Tried to sign him last summer. PSG value him at £12m. Lazio also keen. Understand Hull’s Jarrod Bowen is a non-starter for now #NUFC

We suspect that the top two targets right now are Nice’s Allan Saint-Maximin and PSG’s Stanley N’Soki who Newcastle currently have bids in for. We have yet to hear if either of the reported bids have been rejected though both are less than the asking prices of the players.
Both players did not feature in their pre-season friendlies today so that may be some good news.
Steve Bruce did not have too much information on the transfer front after today’s game. Mark Douglas from the Chronicle did tweet this about Bruce’s response on transfers.
Not much from Bruce on transfers but 'quietly confident #nufc are edging closer to one or two'.
Suggested it could be in next 24-48 hours.

Comment #202Selling Hayden for £15m and signing Lemina for £20m is a no brainer. I would consider doing a swap deal plus £5m.

Comment #204I am going to go against the grain on here (surprise!) and say I don’t think Colback is a bad player. But I would sell him or loan him if we can. He gives away those niggly fouls at the edge of the box and the Premier League Refs have it in for him. He is a total liability in the PL and should not play a minute for NUFC. Although, he is not a bad player – Championship or Scotland would suit him where he can get away with those stupid fouls.

Comment #206Lazaar looks a good player, but I think he’s a little soft, and that’s no good in this league. You want a fullback who wins the ball, and gets to the loose ball first. Winning possession is key, as is being difficult to go past. Ritchie is good in this regard, and swings over a mean ball from deeper positions, without having to beat his man, which isn’t a strength. Lazaar can go to Wednesday if they want him, and probably Aarons too, unless he does something dramatic in the next couple of weeks.

Comment #208I agree, Colback and Saivet aren’t bad players at all, just not quite good enough for us, if we hope to build a group that can be safe first and foremost, and beyond that, push into the top half of the league. They should be at clubs where they can figure and help.

Comment #210Maybe I should change my avatar.
The cost of feeding the horse is ridiculous and don’t mention the vets fees.
As for Amanda it’s even worse.
Give me a lift here, give me a lift there.
Nag nag.
I’m even expected to bring the shopping back from Asda and their livery provision is shocking.
Parking on Gosforth high street is a nightmare.
Only saving grace is the Town Moor which is good for a gallop.
Know any good Farriers ?

Comment #212Stan Anderson. The thought of Fatty’s trouser pocket bulging is not anything I ever wanted to enter my mind. I will have nightmares tonight.
