Paul Dummett, Matty Longstaff, and Rolando Aarons Start At Preston

Newcastle United have released the team for today’s pre-season friendly at Deepdale against Preston. It looks it could be a 3-5-2 formation again.

This is Steve Bruce’s first match in charge of the lads. He will give Matty Longstaff the start in midfield. We will also see Paul Dummett in his first action of pre-season.

It looks like we may have to wait a little bit to see new record signing Joelinton as he does not get a start today but is on the bench.

Mike ‘Hermit’ Ashley forced to make a statement… more proof that boycotts never work.

Apparently you can pay £5 to watch the game on a Preston channel. Anyone got a link to that?

On a more serious note. Lets stay focused and not distracted by all this.
    This is where we are.
    Sold 2 players for 32M.
    Bought a player for 35M.

Still 47M to be spent before I am in my seat for the Arsenal game.

Dear Mike. Don’t tell me show me.

If that interview did one thing above anything else, it put to bed once and for all the long running saga of the Sheik’s takeover.
We can now concentrate on making life as tough for Ashley as possible, and on getting behind the players, because if youngsters like Longstaff don’t feel the love of the fans they could easily be tempted to look for that love, and considerably bigger pay packets elsewhere.

In that interview he eludes to the concept that he is still committed to Every Last Penny.
Why did the journo not push him on that.
It’s what I want to know.

    Hell fire Ashley.
How hard is it. You appoint the right people. CEO, Director of football and Manager.
They work at the club together 40/50/60 hours a week. They trust each other and thrash things out.

It goes wrong when you interfere or put your Casino buddies in charge of a serious enterprise.

Wise – he ripped you off.
Old Man Carr – working from home in the south of England. Too much influence for a scout.
    JFK – Comic cappers.
llambias or whatever he is called – Casino manager.

Even at this eleventh hour all you have to do is this.

    1) Commit to every last penny.
    2) Communicate with the supporters. Not the twitter heroes and the agitators. The 40,000 who still bought season tickets when we were relegated. The thousands who have already bought half of their ticket for next season.
    3) Assure the supporters that the right people are in place. Who are they and how do they make it work.

    That’s all it would take.
