Newcastle Can’t Bring Players In Or Ship Players Out

The Sun’s Alan Nixon is reporting that Newcastle are trying to offload Dwight Gayle but are having issues with even setting up a loan deal for him due to his high wages.

This could be an issue for Newcastle with players like Gayle, Jack Colback, and Henri Saivet. The squad is too big at the moment but lacking in key areas. They also have Championship level players on Premier League level wages.

It’s certainly not an ideal situation for a club that in reality needs to add at least another four players by the end of this window.

If Gayle is to leave, which seems to be what the club is trying to achieve, he will need to be replaced. He could command a decent fee of around £15m which could be used to secure his replacement.

Dwight Gayle– wages will always be a problem

However, time is of the essence and we just can’t see Newcastle being able to get deals done quickly. They’ve messed about over Allan Saint-Maximin for near a week now.

They just have too many players who likely aren’t good enough and some that we truly just don’t know enough about. It seems like right-back Jamie Sterry will need to go out on loan and we just have not seen enough of Henri Saivet or Achraf Lazaar to really know what they can bring.

However, the fact that they have yet to make any impact in the first team over the past three years does make you think they just aren’t of the required standard.

We expect a lot of news over the next few weeks about ins and outs with this squad. There is a lot that needs to happen in so little time.

This squad needs shaping and it needs to start happening immediately.

Well I’ve racked my brains after the latest Ashley staged interview in the Mail and the Mags report is the only sensible reaction.

    Doubtless True

Dwight Gayle bought from C Pal for £10m
I remember Rafa at the time saying he had
a hard time getting the club to agree his wages.

    Cheers Sen. Benitez

so it looks like we are stuck with the squad we’ve got unless they can ship players out typical . we need new players ASAP . dont think we can start the new season with what we have got at the moment . we need another forward in case of injury’s for starters …

Everything can be resolved with money. They get 13-14 million for Gayle. Give him 1-2 to compensate for the lower wages.

Money in, wages gone. Not sure when his contract is up but I think if he is not part of the plans it is time to get rid. He is a player that can actually generate some income unlike Colback.

He is not getting any younger, next summer he will only have one year left on contract, we know how that works, he will go for a discount line an SD coffee cup.

So you would be happy with say another 10 years with this clown of an owner who doesn’t care about winning anything?
I assume you just go for the pies and excitement of a relegation fight each season!

Why would we loan Gayle? That makes no sense. he scored 23 goals and had like 10 assists in the Championship last season. Rafa didn’t want to loan him.

Sell him or keep him FFS.

Rafa didn’t want to loan Gayle out last year. If this is real it has to be Fatty playing his games again.

The only scenario I could visualise wanting NUFC to lose
would be if it relegated the mackems (like their Everton game)

I would keep Gayle (we might have to) and use him alongside Joelinton in certain games. Or reduce his price so prospective buyers ca afford his wages. Nah, Ashley has to make a profit on every transaction so stopping us bringing in replacements.
I wonder who Brucie will be blaming when we’re rock bottom of the PL in November? He ain’t got a great record on loyalty and he’s not a “puppet”
Lol you couldn’t make it up!

It hurts me too, more than you can imagine! I still haven’t got over us blowing the league in 96
but the scenario is different now with the owners new statement and having kidded is for months re Khaled.

His tat shops are on the brink
With key staff leaving, tax bills and investigations into just about everything he has touched

The money he is taking from us is all he has to hold it all together

Don’t expect us to spend any more, we might sell but Jabba needs the clubs cash

This is Bruce’s first any only test he will get. Either gets players out and we see 3/4 upgrades, or he is stuck with what he has. If the former then we know he has sweet FA influence over Ashley/Charnley and his is then on borrowed time as fans have every right to slaughter him. If the latter then mgt are backing him and giving him the funds that are there.
Charnley needs to support the man he recruited and should be making the case to Ashley so he gives them some wriggle room to get these deals done quickly. If this doesn’t happen then this just confirms that Charnley is not an MD but a mere postbox between Bruce and the FCB and should be demoted back to his day job in the post room.
This is the moment of truth for Bruce.
