Newcastle Can’t Bring Players In Or Ship Players Out

The Sun’s Alan Nixon is reporting that Newcastle are trying to offload Dwight Gayle but are having issues with even setting up a loan deal for him due to his high wages.

This could be an issue for Newcastle with players like Gayle, Jack Colback, and Henri Saivet. The squad is too big at the moment but lacking in key areas. They also have Championship level players on Premier League level wages.

It’s certainly not an ideal situation for a club that in reality needs to add at least another four players by the end of this window.

If Gayle is to leave, which seems to be what the club is trying to achieve, he will need to be replaced. He could command a decent fee of around £15m which could be used to secure his replacement.

Dwight Gayle– wages will always be a problem

However, time is of the essence and we just can’t see Newcastle being able to get deals done quickly. They’ve messed about over Allan Saint-Maximin for near a week now.

They just have too many players who likely aren’t good enough and some that we truly just don’t know enough about. It seems like right-back Jamie Sterry will need to go out on loan and we just have not seen enough of Henri Saivet or Achraf Lazaar to really know what they can bring.

However, the fact that they have yet to make any impact in the first team over the past three years does make you think they just aren’t of the required standard.

We expect a lot of news over the next few weeks about ins and outs with this squad. There is a lot that needs to happen in so little time.

This squad needs shaping and it needs to start happening immediately.

Our Toon, i will give Bruce every chance. I was always fair and balanced in my rafa analysis. Because he was posted as the polar opposite of Ashley, any negative analysis of rafa was seen as pro ashley. Bizarre but true. So when we played fulham in the first game he was again, awfully defensive and cautious, and we lost points immediately. People didnt like it. Tough sh1t i said. Overall i wanted rafa to stay long term but he has rowed with every chairman he ever had(and yes ashley is a fool) and he wasnt snapped up by any decent english club ( as i predicted) and i didnt see any euro giant beating his door down either. Still dont get the herbal remedy club move though, apart from the obvious €€€.

Yes correct, I must continue with my new found love for all, I have very little expectation for this season and it’s the first time in memory where I’m not actually looking forward to it.

I really want this place to go back to what it was though, a good place to have good debates without bitterness or child like bullying of people. Doesn’t matter what difference we’ve had previously let’s all move on and start a fresh…….expect for feelings toward Ashley….get him ooot

This blog has different categories, those that come on and ramble often nothing to do with football. Some come on to have a debate or point their views, then there’s those who can’t help just coming on to smooch through posts just to criticise the poster.

EGB: I disagree with you in every regard. Bobbybee said he never asked for any sympathy for his medical issues. He said going to NUFC games was what kept him going. His life, his love, his everything.

Anybody on here can give me grief now, but this is what Bobbybee said about a month ago.

I kno mate, I was in the same boat as you but hopefully we just get back to normality on here without constantly mentioning rafa now. He’s gone and seems to happy in his new choice so we must move on aswell.

OK that’s you take on things, I’ve always said that I’ll defend to the end peoples opinions and if that’s how you feel fair enough but i believe that you have been trying to build bridges and your spat with Bobby will always be your stumbling block.

I’ll say no more on the matter.

I’ve got alot more respect for Bobby bee as he’s making a sacrifice that he now feels is best for all nufc fans. The blokes paid in advance for his season ticket yet is still boycotting the arsenal game which is a massive thing for him to do.

Give the guy a break man and stop beating him with what he said in the past, we’ve all changed our minds over the years on all sorts of issues.

I reckon Root has to bat 3 and then you move the wicketkeepers up to 4 and 5. See what Buttler and Bairstow do if they exchange the gloves in the 1st and 2nd innings. Who says you need the same keeper in both innings?

By belittling those who have decided to boycott or change there stance on I’d never boycott all you succeed in doing is making Ashley happy as these fans will end up thinking what’s the point. Damned if you do and damned if you dont, especially when you’ve already paid for something in advance.

Food for thought Tony, unless you’re happy with that and want to ensure ashley stays

Bobbybee has never actually said anything to me about this. He is very wordy usually, so I have no idea why. I hope his health is Ok but his health would have nothing to do with this as he has said many times that he goes to NUFC games DESPITE his health issues and BECAUSE it is what he loves.

We as a fan base have done very little regarding Ashley and he’s already rolling out the PR and BS statements called “interviews”

Imagine if 75% of the fan base got behind TMG, Samuel’s would be doing hourly “interviews”

This Boycott not Boycott story line is fine to talk about, honestly though if you don’t boycott that’s your choice.

Essentially the Toon Army is trying to stage a war against MA, like any war there will be some that are Sympathizer‘s, don’t hate them for this, you cannot convince 100% of people your right, that’s just simple mathematics.

If you want to boycott then boycott, if you don’t then don’t, don’t hate those who still love the club, I still love the club it’s in my DNA, but I stand behind anyone willing to try and get MA to sell up and leave.

I agree not everyone wants to boycott but the majority should feel like protesting.

Protesting can take many forms, boycotting is one, refusing to buy club merchandise is another, as is not buying any products from brands related to Ashley and on and on.

You dont have to storm the barricades to be part of trying to oust Ashley.

We cant just blow him up or shoot him but death by a 1000 cuts will work.

Check that bloke from Shawshank redemption, he didn’t give up, just chipped away.

Rafa did want to keep Gayle but the problem was West Brom wouldn’t accept Joselu in a loan swap for Rondon, or Joselu would have gone instead of Gayle. Some people forget, Rafa’s first season back in the Prem when we had the bad start that lasted going up to Christmas, sometimes we had not much over 30% possession due to Rafa’s defensive tactic’s, Even Messi would struggle to get goals with those stats, we were never going to produce a goal machine, in fact Perez scored most of his 8 goals in the 2nd half of the season. The only real service Gayle got was the out ball from Shelvey.

Sports Direct’s annual results statement is an extraordinary document, peppered with shock financial revelations, scathing attacks on professional advisers, and stark warnings about the state of the high street. The idiosyncratic publication often descends into a rant by Mike Ashley, Sports Direct’s founder, controlling shareholder and chief executive. Here are some of the key points.
