Report – Newcastle Cannot Meet Target’s Wage Demands

Mike McGrath of the Sun is reporting that Danny Rose was Newcastle’s top target at left-back. But that they are likely to be priced out of a move by the player.

The 29-year-old is up for sale by Tottenham for a fee of around £20m. He is said to be on £60k/week and is unwilling to take a pay cut.

In fact, he is more likely to be looking for a pay rise than to take a cut. We actually thought Danny Rose made a lot more than what is reported here.

Danny Rose– never a realistic target

These reports of Newcastle chasing players over 26 are always dubious to us. Danny Rose is approaching 30 and would cost at least £20m.

This would all but rule him out of a move to Mike Ashley’s Newcastle. We always felt that Rose would also want to join a club in the Champions League.

Currently, he is being chased by Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus. It seems most likely that he would join a club with those sorts of means.

Newcastle are chasing 20-year-old Stanley N’Soli for the left-back position and have made a bid of £8m. This first bid is likely to be rejected but hopefully, Newcastle can get this one sorted soon.

The player wants to come and he has been tracked by Newcastle since he was a 16-year-old. He would be an excellent addition if Newcastle can get him in.

Munster Mag – Not really though I reckon a handy word to know if stuck with a rubbish hand in scrabble.

Somebody else will be along in a short while to say how crap / brilliant he is and how they’ve been watching him for the last 5 years.

Well chaps i had a deep scout and my rrsearch reveals very little. Tends to have a good body position defensively (hope you like that), not slow, looks like he likes a tackle. Add in a bit of swedish stereotyping and a 2mill tag and the right age frame and he looks a fat boy signing all day long. Im still stunned we got the boy Linton though. Ashley has broken his own transfer record twice in a row? Da fuq is going on???

Mindshaft: I assumed that toon22 already had a brokerage account before he would be shorting stocks. I was just saying how he could get in the game if he really was convinced SD would tank. The brokerage firm doesn’t really care if you lose money. They are lending you the stock and charging you interest. They have an inventory of their other customer’s stocks.

You can buy a “naked” put. You don’t have to hedge. That is the customer’s choice.

I was never a fan of options but I know how they work.

We don’t need to make this a finance lesson.

    BUT YOU ARE WRONG.

All I was saying was that if toon22 is so convinced that SD are going into the toilet then there are ways to make money on it.

Good morning Tony. I dont think ive been abused by you yet although i suppose i’m a bit more of a “renegade” than member of “the flock”. Mind you if we keep chasing guys that cost less than 5m i think i’ll become one of those couch barca fans.

Old Arse: I worked IN the Wrigley Building. It’s an office building. In the song by Sinatra: “My kinda Town, Chicago is”. The last lyrics are – The Wrigley Building, Chicago is.

It is on the river at the Michigan Avenue Bridge. PK Wrigley had the top floor when I worked in the office building, not fo the Wrigleys. Remember the PK gum? His dad named it after him.

I didn’t have to JIB that either.
