This Position Still A Big Weakness – Bring This Boy Back To Newcastle

Where we are still very weak is with the striker position and with the departed Salomon Rondon and Perez having scored 23 PL goals of the 42 league goals we scored last season – we must bring in some fire-power this summer.

That’s 55% of our goals – so we need to get in some goalscorers.

There are 11 full days left in the transfer, and hopefully, manager Steve Bruce is busy trying to bring in more strikers.

That’s in addition to Joelinton who could be a fantastic acquisition for us.

This 22-year-old both scores and creates goals and has been shocked at the great welcome he’s received from the Geordie fans.

And we need at least one striker brought in and if Dwight Gayle is sold this summer – hopefully for £15M or more.

Andy Carroll – could be signed if he lowers his wages significantly

We thought Dwight could be staying at Newcastle, but it looks like Bruce wants to sell him and bring in other strikers.

If we can not sell Dwight he could go out on loan again to another Championship club; he still has two years left on his contract at Newcastle.

We need a top striker, and that cannot be Andy Carroll or Charlie Austin who are both 30 years old now.

If we bring in another expensive top striker, we could also bring in one of those two.

We would Andy Carroll as a free agent as long as he’s willing to take a significant drop in wages at Newcastle from the reported £100K/week he was getting at West Ham over six years.

He was on a season-long loan before he signed full time for six years.

He played only 142 games for the Hammers and scored 34 goals during those 7 full years at the club.

As Neil had reported earlier – he could be a tremendous second-half sub and scare the living daylight out of defenders.

And if he can get fit, he could even be a starter for the club once again.

He wants to come back to his home-town club; we think it all depends on the wages he wants.

And then we have to get our medical staff in action and try to keep the lad fit.

It would be good to have Andy back – especially now when we have to keep the fans supporting the club and be united behind Bruce and the players.

What do you think?

Comments welcome.

So what we’re looking at with Mr. Brucie as wor head coach and the wonderful support of wor owner is a 9 win season ahead. That’s a lot of wins lads. Nine is a big number to Mr. Brucie’s way of thinking. And possibly up to 5 draws….. so add that up lads…..

Our most probable top scorer right this moment is Gayle. I back the signing of Linton based on the fee paid however. Looking at him, Almiron & Longstaff to be our difference makers in the attacking sense this season. We already know the rest are currently not up to it.

Ed – welcome back to see you again.

On to football; why do you insist on Andy ‘sick note’ Carroll!?? Seriously? He is one of the most injury prone players I have ever seen. He will only take up place in our squad and won’t be useful at all in the treatment room 24/7.

The Local Authority Pension Fund Forum (LAPFF) has been mulling over the Sports Direct confusion on Friday, mentioned earlier, and the remarks by the retail chain’s founder Mike Ashley.

Councillor Doug McMurdo says: “Sports Direct would have done well to show some humility and self-reflect on its own shortcomings; such self-reflection might have prevented some of the disastrous acquisitions and governance practices that have come to light.

“Now, however, it looks like the chickens might have come home to roost”.

The shares fell 20% at the open but have recovered some losses and look to be closing around 6% lower.

I’m seeing about a goal a game scoring this season. If Miggy gets going and puts in quite a few that is. If not make it 8-10 less. Andy could be a fine flag pole for us. Or a club mascot. He can also help Gayle off the pitch when his hammies flare up.

In someones mind the Rondon- Perez combo is replaced by the JoeLinton-Miggy/Perez combo.
Andy Carrol is not cover for JoeLInton and should hang onto his West ham pay cheque.

Another striker doesn’t have to be the achetype colossus number 9 , just someone who scores goals preferably better and faster than the opposition.
    Charnley’s on the case.
    Peace and harmony abounds.

Lowball wage offers. That sounds like a good idea Chutney. Then we won’t get him but we can say we tried. Then we can move on to the next target to fail with. That’s how you save the bosses money.

N’Soki will probably be on a canny wedge at PSG. Charnley probably thinks he can offer a low salary as he is young.
On the other hand we have this Saint Maximum or whatever, who apparently we have agreed personal terms but cannot agree a fee with his club.
All bull shit, we’ve had no intention to buy these players.

MA broke Carroll’s heart when he cashed in on him with Liverpool. You have to have heart to play this game. So big Andy is a “do not buy” for me. It is time to see what Sorenson can do. If not him, then fall back on Muto. Muto brings much more to the EPL pitch than does Mr. Championship Gayle.
