Moving Newcastle Forward – Mike Ashley Talks About His False Excitement And Ambition

If we are to believe Mike Ashley, then he has a new-found excitement and even ambition for Newcastle.

This has come within weeks of the owner essentially forcing world-class manager Rafa Benitez out of the club.

For some of us, that was the last straw with Ashley, and we always wondered if he would ever make his biggest mistake as the Newcastle owner and not meet Rafa’s demands.

He did that, and his spite and stubbornness forced Rafa out of the club.

We must now get rid of Ashley – who is like an albatross around the neck of Newcastle United.

Mike Ashley – this man must sell Newcastle quickly

And only Ashley could come out and say this about Steve Bruce – an under-whelming choice of manager following Rafa:

“For me, Steve is an amazing choice because, England aside, there is no other job for him.”

“This is his dream. What I want the fans to understand is that, in him, they have someone who absolutely cares.”

“He’s not worried about his expenses, all that crap. He wants to talk about Newcastle. I get excited by that.”

We will remind Ashley that Rafa – world-class manager though he is – was willing to be relegated with Newcastle United and he brought us straight back up from the Championship.

And Ashley has attacked Rafa in the same article, but we know that Rafa cared a lot about Newcastle – at least as much as Steve Bruce.

So we won’t bother with Rafa’s excuses about why Rafa left.

And Ashley even had the gall to suggest he was excited about Newcastle’s future and even had ambitions for the club.

He went on to say this in the Mail article after he had visited the training ground to meet Steve Bruce – which he rarely did with Rafa Benitez:

“I go to the training ground, hot day, all lovely – you can’t help getting carried away.”

“I’m like, ‘What can I do to help? Can we get another one in? What’s he like, is he fast?”

“It’s one of the amazing things about owning a football club, the way you get caught up. It’s like someone has put something in your coffee.”

“You look around, you want to lift the place, hit the ground running. I hope we’re not finished at Joelinton.”

That’s about the biggest load of codswallop I’ve heard from Ashley.

If he is so enthusiastic about the club, how come he has hardly attended any games over the last two years.

And the experienced  Steve Bruce finds himself in an unfortunate situation with all of this.

We hope he can do well, but his management history and record doesn’t give us a lot of hope that he can make us into a top-eight club.

But he’s saying all the right things, and we know he’s a straight shooter.

So we hope that even in these tough circumstances for our fans, we can all get behind Steve and the players – as we did with Rafa.

Steve Bruce is nowhere near Rafa as far as management skills go, but we know he’ll work his socks off to try to make Newcastle into a better side than last season.

We hope he’s successful.

We also hope an ambitious owner will come in and secretly negotiate to buy the club.

And that it’s announced out of the blue before the end of the year.

That’s what I’m hoping for.

My son Neil is right when he keeps telling me I have to get over Rafa leaving.

But I am finding it very very difficult to do that.

But hey, we must live in hope and look to the future.

So our best hope now is that manager Steve Bruce can over-achieve in the job – and that’s certainly possible.

We hope he does well, but we have to do our part; we have to support him and our players.

Comments welcome.

Oh, so not only is Mrs Doubtfire the best manager for us, he doesn’t worry about claiming his expenses either! It’s win, win for Ashley!
Why would any genuine owner actually mention the managers “expenses”?

    repost …

on a cold and frosty october morning in 1801 . there was a young lad walking the streets . looking at the cobble stones glimmering in the winter sun. kicking his hob nail boots on the cobbles causing sparks, across the road from where the young lad was is a shop with all its lights on lighting up the cobbles , the young lad stands there transfixed with the lights shining on the cobbles , he said to himself ” I WONDER WHATS IN THERE ? ”. as he’s thinking that a elderly gentleman look through his frosted windows see’s the you lad . ” I’VE SEEN THAT LAD EVERYDAY FOR THE PAST MONTH ” . the elderly gentleman looks out of his windows no sign of the young lad, this happens for 4 or 5 days . so the elderly gentleman puts on his winter coat his winter boots , goes looking for the kid finds him shivering freezing cold in a back alley . he picks him up takes him back to his shop , lays him down on the couch in front of the fire gives him a bowl of red hot soup . a week later the kid is better , the elderly gentleman ask the boy his name , he replies sorry sir i dont have a name i just answer to you , the man says ok . next morning the boy’s curiosity gets the better of him . he sneaks down stairs to the shop , the kid stands there taken a back shelves and shelves filled with cheap tat . . so the elderly man says to the kid you can live here and work for me , i’ve decide to call you MICHAEL , you can call me MR ASHLEY . the rest is history …

The old Gosforth rugby club ground on The Great North Road is the housing estate , the land was sold to raise cash to move to Kingston Park in the formative days of the Falcons.
The other side of the road is Northern rugby club who sold one corner and part of that land for housing but still rugby pitches, squash and club house bar.

So if Newcastle didn’t get him, England would supposedly be desperate to hire Steve Bruce as manager? Is he actually claiming that?

I notice it is business as usual on the blogg.
Who will we sign and who will play against Gooners.
    As if nothing has happened……..
The Mag believes there will be a near full house against Arsenal. Its shameful. A load boycott and a load more replace them.
As the Mag says the Toon fans are a disgrace and lack moral courage.
They should not boo or complain because they are condoning the regime.
Bruce does not think the fans will boycott and he is right. He knows that they have mince for brains. Ashley is laughing at us and can play us like a fine violin. So easy when the crowd has mince for brains.
Now what should the formation be against the Gunners??. Thats the big issue.
    But its not is it?

    Oldarse check this out …

One long-standing mystery of the painting is why Mona Lisa features very faint eyebrows and apparently does not have any eyelashes. In October 2007, Pascal Cotte, a French engineer and inventor, says he discovered with a high-definition camera that Leonardo da Vinci originally did paint eyebrows and eyelashes.

It’s not surprising you’re finding it difficult to get over Rafa leaving. We had a golden opportunity to get back where we belong, in the top 6 but the owner didn’t share the ambition! That, to me is very sad and heartbreaking for us fans so starved of success for so long and we’re right back where we were with no ambition and the owner lying about his enthusiasm!

How Mike Ashley’s dream died: He pledged to save the High Street but all hopes fade as Sports Direct shares tank by 20%

The stock has lost 77% of its value since peaking at 922p five years ago
With a value of just £1.1bn, Sports Direct is worth just a fraction of rival JD Sports
More than £2.3bn has been wiped off Ashley’s holding in the firm

Friday’s fiasco could be the final nail in the coffin for Ashley as investors appear to be running out of patience.

Jonathan Pritchard, analyst at Peel Hunt, said: ‘Friday’s delays and general nonsense weren’t ‘Just Mike’ or maverick or slapstick, they were an exasperating and rude means of avoiding wide analytical questioning on the very disappointing full-year results.

‘Sports Direct now seems to be strategically snookered, check-mated and clean bowled.

‘The shares are hard to value, but are surely only for the very brave.’

Newcastle United have approached player – And price looking pretty reasonable

It looks like Newcastle United won’t have much of a hard job in case they try to sign Marrony from Vasco da Gama.

Since it’s been claimed that Steve Nickson watched and approved the player, some Brazilian outlets have been reporting how much the Rio de Janeiro side want to sell him for.

First, journalist Jorge Nicola said Vasco would demand €16m for their 70% share, and a deal would cost a little over €18m.

Since the player is protected by a €35m release clause, that sounds like a fair price for a club who are in need of money. Now UOL comes up with a story saying Vasco are actually planning to sell Marrony before the end of the year.

The club’s idea would be to make over R$50m (€12m), so perhaps Marrony could be even cheaper than first reported.

UOL adds that the player has been approached by Newcastle, Porto, ‘and other clubs’. After scoring an important goal against Palmeiras last weekend, he said nothing has come directly to him so far.

“I spoke to my agents yesterday and today, and nothing has come, but if it comes and it’s good for me and Vasco, then it depends on their will. I keep my thoughts here and just think of helping Vasco.”
