Newcastle’s Latest Bid Rejected For Full-back

It seems that SC Amiens is determined to hold onto their right-back Emil Krafth. There were reports in the Sun a few days ago by Alan Nixon that Newcastle were going to offer around £1m for the Swede but that seemed odd as Amiens had just signed the player permanently for double that fee this summer.

Alan Nixon is now reporting that Newcastle have had a bid of £4.5m rejected by the French club for the defender.

Earlier this afternoon there were reports that Amiens president Bernard Joannin was comparing the bid for Krafth with those for PSG left-back Stanley N’Soki. That is not really a like for like comparison in our opinion but we can understand where the French club is coming from.

They would have considered the right-back position covered for the upcoming season as they secured the player who made 36 appearances for the club last season. So they will not be too keen on having to find a replacement this late in the summer. Though the Ligue 1 window is open until September 2.

We also feel that a bid doubling the amount a club has paid for a player less than a month ago is a very fair price. So we can’t really blame the Newcastle board on this. However, it is very odd that they are even pursuing the player in the first place since he did just join Amiens permanently from Bologna.

Emil Krafth is also in a tough position as he is said to be getting a very lucrative deal to join Newcastle according to Nixon. We don’t think we have heard the last on this but can’t imagine Newcastle will increase their offer too much more than this latest bid.

Who cares even if they get him it’s just another uninspiring signing to make up the numbers transfer wise.

I have far more respect for Keegan for walking when he realised the lies that Ashley peddles, I do feel for rafa as no doubt he must of thought I can change ashley but many have tried and failed.

Rafa would probably have got his money had he walked earlier, broken promises which was claimed are in contract that was signed 3 years ago

If he just moved for 2M like a few weeks ago, why did we not sign him for 2M like a few weeks ago.
    Also, why a right back.

Does anyone remember that Mel Brookes film The Producers.
    That’s this lot.
    Chumley, Mrs Doubtfire and whoever.

Somebody asked about the Fantasy Football league earlier on the blog and didn’t get an answer.

    The link is: https://fantasy.premierleague.com
    League code: eythox

I am sure Scythe For Bruce wouldn’t mind me saying that everybody is welcome.

Nothing ever changes at Newcastle, always smokes and mirrors, just make it till the window shuts Charnley, just remember low ball offers and drag deals and make it look like we tried.

I’m surprised clubs even take us seriously when offers are so pathetic. The circus is here for awhile and then the news will come on deadline day that we are trying to complete 3 moves…….deadline passes and no one further is added to squad

The more of a shambles this becomes the less likely it is the press can continue to say anything positive about MA.

The clubs continuing incompetence is doing protesters a favour. Let’s face facts the coming season is a wash-out anyway, unless they suddenly spring into action and spend decent money on decent players…yeah, wash-out!

All of these responses to IrishMagpie on where to stay in Newcastle. Didn’t you all realise it was a wind up?

“Can someone please recommend a hotel for the Arsenal game, thanks” followed today by “Don’t like it [the orange shirt] but I’ll buy it anyway, one for me and one for my daughter”.

He is a WUM. Quite subtle but deliberately swimming against the tide of opinion and rubbing our noses in it.
