President of French Club Questions Newcastle’s Bid For Full-Back

It appears that Newcastle are trying to capture SC Amiens right-back Emil Krafth but may not have been counting on the French club’s resolve in holding on to their new signing.

Bernard Joannin is the President of SC Amiens, who just signed the Swedish international from Bologna for €2.5M this summer. Krafth had spent last year on loan at the Ligue 1 club.

The following tweet by an Amiens fan account has a comment attributable to the Amiens president.

The statement translates to:

“If the leaders of Newcastle are ready to put in 11M € to buy N’Soki, why would not they put in 11M € for Emil Krafth?”

Well, there is no way Krafth is worth the same amount as Stanley N’Soki but Newcastle should be expecting the French club to want to hold on to their new signing. We have to wonder how much the club is bidding for the 24-year-old.

There appears to be very solid interest in the Swede from Newcastle which at least shows the club is trying to get players in. It also appears that Krafth would love to join Newcastle which you would expect to be the case.

Alan Nixon of the Sun has tweeted the following about Amiens stance on Krafth as well as the player’s willingness to join.

The slow start to the summer activities by Newcastle is going to end up burning them we fear. They made no haste in finding a replacement for Rafa Benitez when they knew he was hesitant to sign a new contract in mid-May. This indecision brought a halt to much of the club’s transfer activity and now Newcastle are trying to make up for lost time.

We are not sure of how long Krafth has been on Newcastle’s radar or if it was even a possibility to sign him before Amiens did, but to go in with derisory offers for a player who has just signed for a club seems ludicrous. It’s even more ludicrous that they have just one transfer completed with 9 days left in the window.

Well, we’ll see where this one goes from here but there does appear to be genuine interest from the club in the player and vice versa. But as is generally the case, it is the fee that is holding things up.

Man UTD are signing Bruno fernandes. Wow. Fantastic signing for them.

Meanwhile at sports direct United, we are told we can’t compete. With newly promoted and championship clubs out spending us.

A complete and utter shambles this window has been.

Unpalatable as it is for some to accept
Part at least of the blame for the shambles
    is Rafa’s feud with Ashley.

only ONE man to blame for the complete and utter shambles at our club and that’s your hero Mike Ashley.

Why does everyone say I wish Charnley would just pay the wages , or offer the amount they want , or hurry up and get the deal done

It has literally noting to do with him

If we want to buy a player and the value is 20 million for example

Mike Ashley will tell lee Charnley to put in an offer (let’s say 13 million)

So the selling club comes back (Ermmmm no thanks)

Charnley then relays that message back to Ashley

Probably has to wait a few days before Ashley comes up with a new low offer

    Rinse and repeat

It’s not as if Charnley will be allowed to spend what he wants

He will have a cap on each transfer (which Ashley will dictate)

    The same with wages

Hence why every transfer takes an eternity

We had two deals lined up back in February for Joelinton and The winger (Alan saint maxim) and they still can’t get the second deal done

    It’s all one big mess

Charnley is basically Ashley’s puppet and always will be

He leads nothing in terms of negotiations without running it all past Ashley’s team of bafoons

Transfer window closes Thursday week, we really need to get some bodies “over the line” fairly sharply. We can’t really afford to be haggling a couple of million quid at this stage

    Jib,
Who was responsible for the shambles in 2016 and the one where Jonas saved us on the last day, and the one before that when we smashed our consecutive defeats record and the one before that when we waited until the penultimate game before safety?

Luckily the manager doesn’t do tactics so if we do bring in players before Arsenal they won’t have to learn Brewcey’s game plan, just get out there and do your thang son!!

Jib from way earlier I didn’t say you were trying to rub fans noses in it, I was saying that by telling fans that their sacrifice in giving up their season tickets is for nothing, you are indeed rubbing their noses in it

I was suggesting you could show some tact towards those who are acting in hope and desperation. They know full well they could be undermined by their fellow fans, it probably keeps them awake at night. The last thing they need is someone telling them directly that their gesture is for naught.

I don’t use city centre hotels as I have no need. The motel one on high bridge, as mentioned by Tsunki, is used by a couple of London based colleagues when they travel up and they speak of it highly.

We dont know anything about Bruce’s tactics yet, he’ll drop some clangers which I expect but what manager doesn’t. Difference this time though is everyone will be of the same mindset and will rightly criticise those clangers, rather than the nonsense of shhhh its rafa and he’s world class, cant do any wrong rubbish that was rolled out consistently

What on earth that has to do with what happened in 2016

I’m still hopeful of a couple more signings. I think Saint Maximin and nsoki are pretty much guaranteed. Not sure after that. We should then have a squad capable of staying up.

However, I’ll not be taken in. Even if we splurge £100M between now and the end of the window (I know) the club is no better off.

We need to keep the pressure on Ashley. There’s a reason he came to Benton and there’s a reason he spoke to Martin Samuel. He’s feeling it at the moment and he needs to keep on feeling it.

Even if it’s just one game, we need to start away. Those that live further afield, you need to not buy the shirts for yourselves and your kids. Remember, Ashley owns the intellectual property so he receives the royalties from the brand. Sports direct own the club shop so they receive the profit from the shirts.

The club pays sports direct millions to store their tat for them, so the shirts sold actually end up costing the club money.

    DON’T BUY ASHLEY’S SH1T!!

“Shortly after taking charge at Sunderland Steve Bruce was asked if he had considered experimenting with a Christmas Tree formation. “I’m not really into tactics,” he replied. At the time that response was easy to interpret as a deliberately flippant or, perhaps, a self-deprecating means of avoiding answering the question. As the seasons passed, though, the suspicion grew that the former Manchester United captain had simply been honest.”

Our Toon the reason we all spent hours of our time supporting Rafa and trying to convince everyone that they should do the same was because we knew he was our last chance to salvage the club with Ashley in place.

We knew that if Rafa left Ashley would replace him not with a forward thinking and supports intelligent young manager but with yet another aging yes man no mark who would take out club and the team back to the dark ages.

And here it is, in the flesh. Great isn’t it?
