Manager Gives Update On Future Of Newcastle Target

Jurgen Klopp has spoken of his young winger Harry Wilson after his performance today in their final preseason match.

The Liverpool Echo have the comments Klopp made about the 22-year-old’s future and his wonder strike against Lyon.

This is what Klopp has said:

“We are in constant conversation, that’s clear.

“We have to do the right thing for us and for the boy. That’s how it is.

“It’s nothing to talk in public about it, so we will see what happens in the next eight or nine days until the window closes.

“He is obviously a really good player. I’ve been really happy with him all pre-season, he came back from Derby completely different.

“That’s a good example of how a loan can really work out. For Derby it was really good, for Harry it was, and for us as well.

“Harry did a really good job for us, scored a wonderful goal, a Harry Wilson special. That was really cool.”

It seems that Harry Wilson’s situation is still fluid at the moment and the club have yet to make a decision on his future. There have also been no reported bids for the Welshman as of yet.

Harry Wilson– warming up for Wales

There were reports from earlier today that Bournemouth were set to meet Liverpool’s £25m valuation of Wilson. The report said that Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe sees Wilson as the perfect competition for Ryan Fraser and David Brooks.

This report came out before confirmation of Brooks’ severe ankle injury which will keep the 22-year-old midfielder out of action for up to 12 weeks.

Bournemouth joins Aston Villa and Newcastle as the leading candidates vying for Harry Wilson. From Jurgen Klopp’s comments, it seems as though he is very sympathetic to Wilson’s desire for first-team football.

It had been reported that Liverpool were averse to sending the player out on loan. Though, from reading Klopp’s comments he seems to be open to it as it worked out extremely well when he was at Derby last season.

Wilson would be an excellent addition on loan next season if the club are unwilling to meet the asking price of £25m. This fee is unlikely to be drastically reduced as Wilson has featured heavily for Liverpool this preseason and not looked out of place.

I would place Bruce as the worst appointment in Ashley’s tenure. Only worse than Carver because for a time we actually thought as a Geordie and NUFC through and through and in SBRs tutelage for some years he couldn’t quite mess it up. With Bruce we knew before it became reality his would be a complete joke of an appointment and whaddya know, it is! And we haven’t seen any results in the League yet ha ha.

Worse than Pardew by a mile. Worse than McClaren by some way. And what adds to this horror is the fact that Bruce has seen all those failures crash in 4k slo-mo and STILL grasped at the job. Also add to that he knows that we know he turned us down when he thought his stock was too high, but took up the mackems cause like a hungry rat devouring a seagull carcass, and he STILL slimed Sheff Weds over to set up his Man U playing days photos in the managers office at SJP.

Now we get to see his fat sycophantic mug declaring slow improvements and how Mike is just the nicest greedy billionaire blood sucking parasite he’s ever not yet met in person etc. Bleurrrgghh. Get him out. Get Ashley out and his little pet Charnley.

Lee Charnley actually came out when accounts were released and said past 2 seasons we have spent 109m hence had 11m carried over to this year.

    That’s some expensive black paint.

Would be a massive intent by us if we did say go any buy Wilson for 25 mill. Cant see it mind but would fit in the mold of buy young sell for profit and comes in a lot cheaper than Joelinton and would get around the same if not more for the lad in a couple of years.

Surely we are going to see a few more incomings, of this calibre is yet to be seen. The normal feeling of we wont buy anyone else of any sort of quality but why spend £40 mill on one player and dont go for the likes of Wilson.

Is it just me or did anyone else feel a bit disgusted that Newcastle fans were chanting pro tommy Robinson The other night. It’s embarrassing to be associated with. Stephen Yaxley Lennon (his real name) is not someone to be supportive of at all..

    “18/19
    Average Spend: £45m
    Newcastle United Spend: -£2m”

that is a bit misleading as we brought in 7 players most of whom were an improvement and played regularly.

And so, apparently, on it goes. Why on earth can’t he find anybody to give him what he wants for this very well run (!) EPL club? Please, somebody!! Help!

Just to remind everybody how bad Carver was, his record was 3W 4D 13L in 20 games as head coach from Jan 1 to June 9 2015. A 15% win rate and 21.7 percent of the points taken.

Here’s some maths if we have 28 players on an average wage of £40 a week then the wage bill is £60m to start with plus bonuses. say out wage bill hasn’t gone up it was actually around £90m at last time I checked. We should still have around a £50m profit annually aka transfer budget even after all the match day earnings and advertising is stripped bare. If we spent that much each season on improving the facilities and staff it’d be acceptable to me.
