Sport In A Storm has an article about SC Amiens’ plans in case Emil Krafth leaves the club for Newcastle this summer.
They have an interview with the club’s manager Luka Elsner who was just appointed one month ago. This is what Elsner has said about his Swedish right-back.
“Emil is a great professional
“We are a development club, which will inevitably have to deal with this kind of situation.
“There are no worries about him and his ability to handle events. For my part, I know there are things going on behind the scenes.
“Today, I’m on the field and what interests me are the players at my disposal.
“We will also bring in more talent, this is the reality of the club. The fact that players are being wooed is not a problem in itself.
“Going forward, solutions have been planned in case of departures and I think we are well equipped to face all possible events.”
It certainly does sound, from these comments, like Amiens are prepared to lose Emil Krafth this summer. Though the player just joined permanently from Bologna, he was their right-back last season while on loan.
The club just last week brought in veteran right-back Christophe Jallet, 35, on a free transfer. Jallet is a former French international and just left Nice this summer.
Newcastle recently had a bid of £4.6m rejected by the French club but Sport In A Storm has suggested that both sides are really close and a second bid could be forthcoming.
Though Get French Football News recently suggested that the clubs were far apart in their valuations of the player.
They want €10m

We do expect Newcastle to go in with a slightly improved bid for Emil Krafth. The player is a professional but the move to Newcastle is just such a big one for the 24-year-old.
We would expect Amiens to relent and allow the player to leave. The comments by the coach seem to suggest that is a very distinct possibility.
