Report – Newcastle Agree To Deal On Top Target – Player To Sign 6-year Deal

RMC Sport are reporting that Newcastle United have agreed on a fee of £16.5m for OGC Nice’s Allan Saint-Maximin.

This tweet translates to:

Agreement found for Allan Saint-Maximin with Newcastle. Transfer around 18 million euros with a lot of bonuses. The player is about to sign a 6-year contract with the English club

It looks like Lee Charnley’s trip to the Mediterranean has paid dividends this time. This is a good deal for a player who if he works hard can become a superstar.

This will be the second first-team player to come in this summer behind Joelinton, who also signed a 6-year deal. This could be a very exciting team with Joelinton, Almiron, and now hopefully Saint-Maximin upfront.

Newcastle now need to focus on getting in Stanley N’Soki from PSG and Emil Krafth from SC Amiens. They are reportedly very close to agreeing for these two players.

Then we hope there is a surprise signing in the form of a striker or additional wide player. Maybe even one of Liverpool’s Harry Wilson or Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen. This may be unlikely but would certainly be welcomed.

After that it’s time to bring Andy Carroll home and this will have been a very good window. But still lot of work left for all of this to happen.

OP… Only seen a couple of videos of him and I agree with what you say…
style over substance …a player who will frustrate his teammates and fans alike.

He’s actually highly rated from what I heard. Never seen him though. Surprising that, if it’s true, he’s being let go.

    Boycott

We know Ashley’s policy, but the lad is only going to be a good investment for Ashley if he’s a huge success here!
If he isn’t we have yet another mug on a long contract!

Moonraker the signings are looking more and more like we’re back to France again hoping for sell on value rather than properly scouted for an addition to the team

    Boycott @28.

You are right of course, same with Joelinton and probably anyone else who comes in. Bruce wont have any say. At least Rafa had some influence in order to build a team. This may not end well even if it is pleasing to see some (any) investment.

Could it be that Charnley couldn’t get Saint-Maximin and went for Sissako instead think we’d be pleased he managed to come back with somebody lol let’s bloody hope not!

OP, you’ve seen more than i have of this guy, i’ll bow to your knowledge on him for now. Problem is, with all the moaning on here, if we get him there are moans, if we dont get him there are moans. As for steve bruce, people were calling him a 442 dinosaur, but he doesnt seem to plsy 442 and didnt our ex goalie say he was very good at training and was innovative. We need to give him a chance. Protest, yes please in big numbers. But turning on the manager too early makes us look stupid.
