Reports From France – Deal For Frenchman Complete With Medical Tomorrow

Get French Football News have sent out the following update regarding Newcastle’s deal for Allan Saint-Maximin. Three French outlets are reporting that the €18m plus add-ons deal is complete.

The deal apparently includes significant and easily attainable add-ons that make it very likely it will reach €22m (£20m). RMC and Soccer Link are reporting that the deal is complete while Nice Matin goes a step further to report that Saint-Maximin will have a medical tomorrow.

Nice Matin journalist William Humberset has sent the following tweet.

This tweet translates to:

Allan Saint-Maximin will have his medical tomorrow in Newcastle. OGC Nice is expected to pocket €20m, including a cash portion, for the transfer of the 22-year-old winger to the north of England

The Sun also has that the deal has been agreed.

It will be great if Newcastle can get the deal closed tomorrow or over the weekend.

imh…its about PR. MA doesnt buy anyone and the team is crap he gets the blame. by buying players all the blame will go to bruce, plus the bonus of more tickets being sold and less chances of boycotts.

I wouldn’t have said Gayle was one in two in the Championship. He used to miss plenty but the fact that he scored plenty helped mask the misses. He was one in four.
He doesn’t get as many chances in the Premier League therefore his misses are magnified.
He gets in to great positions but all too often fails to convert.

not true. bruce took a pay cut to get out of the champ. it’s the only way he could get out, he sure as hell wasn’t going to coach his team out of it and no other club was dumb enough to hire him.

We can look at his record in 2 different Champo seasons with 2 different clubs Novo mate. 23 in 39 with West Brom and 23 in 32 with us in the Champo. That suggests he is a 1 in 2 striker or better in the Champo. Combined that’s 46 in 71.

No, but I think he deserves a place in the squad. He is more likely to score than Muto.

I don’t think he’ll get much playing time with us if he stays anyway so it’s hard to say now. He might have lost a step or two with injuries. Definitely not somebody we can count on for goals in the Prem. We need another good striker in but I don’t think we’re going to get one. Carroll on a pay per play would probably be popular especially if he could pop a few in early on before he knackers himself again.

With Gayle it’s worth remembering the first few months he had a few issues. In the second half of our season back he was very good and finally looked to have built a partnership with Perez. Was a big part in our strong finish to 10th. Goals started to come back. If he was not good enough for the league then he wouldn’t be getting chances, the fact he was getting them shows he can cut it in the league.

Think his misses are somewhat overplayed too. He missed his fair share like all strikers but we were not a creative team and didn’t create a lot of chances.

Muto is a better all round footballer than Gayle, and hasn’t had his shot, Gayle has. I really hope Gayle is moved on to a club where he can do his thing, score goals. He won’t for us in the EPL, and he offers little else.

That’s a good analysis ronaldo. Well said. Personally I liked Gayle but I think we need to move on now. Sell to a good Champo team and if necessary cover a bit of his wages for the first season (preferably not).

With people like Carroll, Sturbridge or welbeck, it’s not just about costs and wages, they’ll be taking up a squad place. I think I’d prefer someone who can contribute rather than someone who might play 5-10 games.

    Posada,
I’d say it was the appointing dismal managers approach that messed things up. Forgetting our defenders imagine we had a good manager who played this mid/ att
    Wijnaldum Shelvey. Sissoko
    Thauvin. Mitrovic. Townsend
    Not…
    Colback Shelvey
    Sissoko. Wijnaldum. Townsend
    Mitrovic
Playing Sissoko as a winger beggars belief, and Wijnaldum has excelled in his preferred position. Thauvin barely played RW

Martoons prediction league is going to be interesting. Especially top scorer.
Joelinton 6 from open play while playing in an attacking team in a weak league
    Almiron. Yet to score.
Maximin. 6 in France. No end product.
They’re all good players, but goal shy.
My bet will be Longstaff or Almiron with 7.

We needs goals and someone already adapted to English football. Buy Bowen.

Muto looks a bit lost in among the tall trees in the box. But I would give him one more season before selling him on. If we have enough creativity to get him the ball often enough he may score a few. Sort of a poor man’s Perez in that I don’t expect any streaky scoring from him.
