Get French Football News have sent out the following update regarding Newcastle’s deal for Allan Saint-Maximin. Three French outlets are reporting that the €18m plus add-ons deal is complete.
Allan Saint-Maximin will undergo a medical with Newcastle United tomorrow ahead of a €22m move from OGC Nice https://t.co/m9rPG7bSJU
— Get French Football News (@GFFN) August 1, 2019
The deal apparently includes significant and easily attainable add-ons that make it very likely it will reach €22m (£20m). RMC and Soccer Link are reporting that the deal is complete while Nice Matin goes a step further to report that Saint-Maximin will have a medical tomorrow.
Nice Matin journalist William Humberset has sent the following tweet.
Allan Saint-Maximin passera sa visite médicale demain à Newcastle. L'OGC Nice devrait empocher 20 millions d'euros, dont une partie en cash, pour le transfert de l'ailier de 22 ans dans le nord de l'Angleterre.
— William Humberset (@WHumberset) August 1, 2019
This tweet translates to:
Allan Saint-Maximin will have his medical tomorrow in Newcastle. OGC Nice is expected to pocket €20m, including a cash portion, for the transfer of the 22-year-old winger to the north of England
The Sun also has that the deal has been agreed.
Newcastle agree £16.5m deal for Nice winger Allan Saint-Maximin as Steve Bruce closes on second major Toon transfer https://t.co/5MgpvGY1gc
— The Sun – Newcastle (@SunNewcastle) August 1, 2019
It will be great if Newcastle can get the deal closed tomorrow or over the weekend.

The football world will be on St James’ Park when Newcastle play Arsenal in the opening game of their PL campaign. This is the best opportunity we have ever had to make the rest of the world aware of the issues at Newcastle United. It is particularly unique due to the problems Mike Ashley is having in his other businesses at this time.
Therefore, we are encouraging all NUFC fans to boycott the Arsenal game on the 11th of August. More information about the plans for the boycott can be found here:

Volunteer
In advance of the boycott WE NEED YOUR HELP. We want to get the message out to as many people as possible. Many fans don’t have access to social media. We are looking for volunteers to:
1. Pick up some flyers/posters we have made available to put into Newcastle pubs/clubs in your local area. If you are able to do this please meet us at 3pm THIS SATURDAY outside Sports Direct on Northumberland street to collect and distribute.
2. Phone some friends. Let them know that you won’t be attending and encourage them to do the same. Even better arrange to meet them in one of the venues that have a special deal as part of the #supportourtoon campaign.
3. Talk about it at work. Word of mouth is really powerful. Get the message out there!
4. We are always looking for people to help us with our campaigns. Do you have any skills you can offer? If so tell us how using the link below:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfFP9J3tgF8UzbuK8fbvK_XV2d6hsFN1cqMdMSQdvvgQI1Mfw/viewform?usp=pp_url
5. Most importantly: BOYCOTT and join the PROTEST
Thanks for your support

Comment #205Remember the Rafa years with pride. We needed him badly. Treated the people of Newcastle well. Went out of his way to support all ages. He doesn’t deserve any grief on here.

Comment #206Yeah, we’ve spent net 27 mill and still aren’t stronger. We still need an attacking left back, big number 9 and central mid, with 30 mill remaining.
If we can sell Gayle that’d help, but if he’s injured then that becomes more difficult.

It looks like the signing of Maxim is about to be confirmed for around £16/22M euros, I think there will be more as well as they do know the cost of relegation. What is your take on allowing a second rate manager a spend of say 80M as opposed to letting someone like Rafa spend straight away 16,5M on Rondon then shore up the defence and wings with the rest on players he would know will, not only ensure we are not in a relegation battle but have us battling with your Leicesters and Everton’s as the best of the rest. Do you believe, that despite possibly spending 80M that we’ll be involved in anything other than a relegation battle with Steve Bruce in charge. If this is one of my soul searching questions that you refuse to answer, then I know your answer already!

The FCB won’t spend another penny.
The 45,000+ who will attend the Arsenal game aren’t supporters.
The moaning doomster relegation Bruce haters are the true fans.
More chance of Longstaff being sold than another signing.
toon22 is the messiah and poet laureate of the blog.
toon22 has never been to newcastle or a match but he knows loads about NUFC’s books.
Joelinton is useless and isn’t a striker.
Maximin is a poor man’s Obertan.
All the good signings made while Rafa was manager were his choices.
The dud signings were Charnley’s choices.
The FCB will never break our transfer record.
Joelinton, Almiron and Maximin don’t count because it defeats our argument.
Rafa got nowt to spend but Bruce gets millions.
China is the world’s football oyster and players and managers go there not for the money but the ‘project’.
Yorkymag is an alt of Jib and on KBA’s payroll.
Even if we sign Maximin and N’Soki there will be no more signings after that.
Longstaff, Schar and Dubravka will be sold before the window ends.
Call 0123 456 789 to join the boycott – PLEASE.
Fck everyone who doesn’t agree with all of the above.
……………..Sincere and deepest apologies if I’ve missed anything out.
Oh, I did….
Colback is a traitorous ginger mackem monster who should be strung up on a jibbet in the Bigg Market.
With Bruce.
G’night all.

Thanks for the Blackie Boy and Northumberland Arms confirmations. Must say, I was never over fond of the BB though to do the walk starting from The Plough, The Haymarket, Hotspur, Farmers, the Percy, Kings Head, Burgoynes (sp?) The Bacchus, the Rose & Crown (?) on Newgate St, the various hostelries of the Bigg then the Cloth or Groat Markets and via the Post Office and end up in the Bridge made for quite a pleasant stroll of a summers evening.
Anyone fill the gaps with the names of the pubs of the Bigg, Cloth and Groat Markets in the 1960s – when pubs were pubs and bars were for propping up. Hey ho.
Jib, you’re not allowed to participate coz you know everything. And Yorkie, you neither coz you’re err, how can I say it politely….

Comment #214Rafa would have got the money had he signed. It’s not hard to understand that. But he didn’t like the terms on offer and left. Bruce agreed to them and gets the backing.
It is terrible, however we should have a decent group to support, and Bruce, while no Rafa, will do his level best.
The owner is not the club, and the side will always be in our hearts.
People should be respected for whatever position they choose to take in this very difficult time for the club and its fans.

Comment #223Not sure why people are suggesting that Ashley is only spending now Rafa has gone etc. It was always reported when Rafa was here we had about 60m + player sales to invest this season. That means we should still have a fair few bob left to go and get a couple more through the door! Just to add Rafa definitely left us for money and nobody can argue that as he clearly had other offers on the table not just a garbage Chinese league (still a legend of a manager in my book).

Answer this question…
Are you proud of accusing me of using my stroke and my wife’s cancer, both in the space of three months five years ago, as an EXCUSE for not posting on this blog for 18 months after that life changing event?
I shouldn’t even be acknowledging a despicable odious person like you, never mind answering your monotonous banal questions.
You epitomise the worst of the evil of the bile that sitting behind the sanctuary and protection of a keyboard can bring.
You want to hope that neither you or any member of your family suffers the devastation that strokes and cancer bring.
If you do, you won’t find it a laughing matter.
That, I can tell you for certain.

There was money to spend on who Mikey and Chumpley wanted to spend it on, not who a credible manager knew would benefit the team. If Rafa had of gone to Leicester or Arsenal, does it take away the fact that the two chumps running us have zero smbition
