Allan Saint-Maximin Sends Classy Message To Former Club

Allan Saint-Maximin has tweeted out a message to his former club OGC Nice and their supporters. This is really a classy move from our new number 10.

Here is a rough translation of the above tweets:

“A page turns, as you know I left Nice for Newcastle and with my little family we wanted to thank you, the great Niçe family.

“Thank you for your smiles, for your kindness every time we met, for cheering me during games, for sometimes shouting at me too (yes because it’s also a family), for having given these conditions to my two daughters.

“For allowing me to continue to live my dream of football, for giving me the chance to wear this jersey. A big thank you also to the staff and my teammates who are more than teammates for me.

“It’s hard to leave you, I’m proud to have been one of yours and shared all these good times with you. I wish the best to OGC Nice for the future!

“I will continue to be behind this club as a supporter this time.”

This is great message from Allan. We are thrilled with his signing today and cannot wait to see him play this season.

Zele, if steve bruce, who the players clearly like, has managed to help us keep hayden, thats a serious feather in his cap.

You could be right Jail and i’ll try not to fall out with you on it. We could lose a lot of games but there will be a change in style and i’m just hoping. We lack out and out defenders. Id say we only have two in the team, lascelles and dummett.

I asked you the question yesterday, would Rafa be still be here if jabba gave him what he wanted, you avoided the question by saying you don’t know knowing fine well if you had said yes you wouldn’t be able to have a go at him for going to China anymore, sad.

Were you expecting the players to say they didn’t like Bruce or want him as their manager?

Reading this morning’s posts, what a surprise!

The majority of posts were about football!

    Very pleasant reading…

( predictably the mood was spoilt as soon as Ballooney stuck his oar in!…)

I swear certain posters here have absolutely no life apart from being sat on the internet all day, come rain or shine 7 days a week a constant stream of posts with maybe a small gap for nap here and there by a select few.

Wouldnt care that there a social outcast but there posts are all pointless, repetition or arguing, which probably explainns how they became a hermit sat on here all day in the first place.

”Sources close to negotiations say that the club’s football project – which is shown to all prospective new players – is very impressive”
If true, it simply has to be those drawings that Rafa got shown. How are the Chronicle printing this rubbish.

    Munster,

When Hayden first started playing for us I thought this lad is something special but then he ‘disappeared’.

It wasn’t until much later that we learnt of his family circumstances, which would have effect most people.

In the second half of the season coinciding with the appearance of Longstaff he seemed to have sprung to life and performances in the recent friendlies appear to suggest he has not lost his appetite for the game.

It will be a feather in Steve Bruce’s cap if he can keep him and have him perform like he did last season.

I would guess that Neil and Ed have got p!ssed off with the constant petty bickering and name calling and have decided to let us stew for a while.

That would leave the ball in our court to get the message!!!

This feeder club makes me laugh.

Signing players on 5/6 year contracts is a huge gamble that has backfired badly in the past.

So, why has Ashley stuck to that policy on young players?

Because he has seen players from other Prem clubs have one good season on a 3 year deal, attract the interest of big clubs and then be held to ransom by the player and his agent saying they want away and won’t sign another contract with just two years left to go or less.

With a 6 year deal that doesn’t happen.

The club now have total control of any transfer situation and can either a) turn down offers flat or b) if the player insists on going demand a high fee or tell the potential buyer to go forth and multiply.

EVERY CLUB IN THE WORLD, bar possibly Real Madrid, Barcelona, City and PSG, are ‘feeder clubs’ to one degree or another simply because the best players, rightly, want to better themselves, win trophies and earn the wages that can’t be earned at the clubs they are with.

A 6 year deal is basically saying to a player…

    We really rate you…

We think you are going to get better…

We want to keep you for the long term…

    But…

If a big club comes calling soon… if you want to go…

It will be on our terms… not you and your agents.

And, if we decide you aren’t going… you ain’t.

6 year deals are a gamble, but the BEST WAY of NOT being a sucker punch feeder club.
