Report – Midfielder Target To Make Newcastle Decision On Tuesday

Le 10 Sport is reporting that Thiago Maia will make a decision between Genoa and Newcastle on Tuesday.

This tweet translates to:

Thiago Maia has to make a decision tomorrow (Tuesday). Transfer Offer from Genoa (7M € + 50% resale) or Newcastle loan offer (with higher salary than Genoa)

The link to Maia resurfaced Sunday night with reports from France that Newcastle had renewed their interest in the Brazilian. It was reported earlier today that Newcastle had made a better offer for the defensive midfielder.

However, that offer appears to be in salary and not in a transfer fee. The French outlet is reporting that Maia will have to decide between joining Genoa on a permanent or Newcastle on loan. With Newcastle, he would reportedly get higher wages.

We are not sure if their will be an option to buy in the deal but if we could get Maia in this week that would be excellent news. Like Jetro Willems, a loan deal with an option to buy might not be a bad idea. Both players saw a massive dip in form last season so maybe Newcastle are just taking precautions by only offering a loan deal initially.

    I like this tweet
‘Our former top scorer said he left because of a lack of ambition at the club. Our second top scorer says that senior management know nothing about football. People insisting Rafa left purely for more money. Go figure’

Over 4800 of the Nust trust members voted if they supported the boycott.

    84% voted yes

67% of the yes vote either hold or held a season ticket last year.

Not all members voted, the results are from those who did.

It’s yuan, and I’d wager Rafa is being paid in Sterling, Euro’s and Yuan transferred directly into bank accounts in England, Spain and China.

So there are potentially about 3500 whom support the boycott, but may or may not take action? A fairly worrying amount that didn’t vote too? Pretty disturbing numbers there. Hope I’m wrong but it sounds like Steve Bruce has called it right.

BBC report that as we know:

Mike Ashley has emerged at the winner in an auction to buy the UK fashion retailer Jack Wills for £12.7m.
Mr Ashley’s company Sports Direct has bought Jack Wills out of administration after competing against Edinburgh Woollen Mill Group.
It will acquire 100 Jack Wills stores in the UK and Ireland and take on 1,700 staff as part of the deal.
Commenting on Jack Wills, Sports Direct said: “We will look to work with the landlords to reduce the rents to keep as many stores trading as possible.”

The company has 10 stores overseas and KPMG, which is the administrator to Jack Wills, is examining options for those assets.
Jack Wills reported an operating loss of £14.2m for the year to 28 January 2018, the most recent results available.

The company will be housed in a new division at Sports Direct which will focus on buying and building fashion and sports brands.

It will report to Michael Murray, Sports Direct’s head of elevation and Mr Ashley’s future son-in-law who is engaged to the retail tycoon’s daughter Anna.

    two points:
KPMG are being courted as the new auditors for Sports Dircet
Head of elevation – do you need to take blue pills for that because you’re a ……..

Anyone who thinks Steve Bruce should be managing in the Premier League in 2019 shouldn’t be allowed to make decisions regarding football, especially not when they’ve previously thought the likes of McLaren and JFK were good ideas. Ashley even admits he knows nothing and has made bad choices so why does he continue to trust himself or charnley. By now he should’ve learned to put these crucial decisions to somebody who knows football.

    We’ll have to see

The boycott and protesting Ashley is being received better than before.

    Things are building.

If only 3000 season ticket holders boycott, next time we’ll try to get 4000 to boycott.

Club1872 only had 2000 boycott their 1st game, they’ve now raised over a million pound and own part of their club.

If I knew I was crap, I’d stop. But I know gamblers who admit they’re terrible at predictions but keep betting. Ashley must have the “I’ve got the last 50 predictions wrong so it means I’ll get next the next one right” attitude.

I am disappointed Rafa went to China but it was his choice. I think he’ll soon be back in Europe. That’s where his legacy is. The money could come in useful though. For example he will be more financially able to tell tossers like Ashley where to shove their contracts.

Genoa, geez, the Italian Riviera, all that sunshine, crystal clear aquamarine water, sun drenched beaches, topless young Sophia Lorens and Gina Lollobrigida’s prancing about, pasta, pizza and chianti, unbearable. Who needs it?

Have a bash at the bangers the mash son, like me mother used to make, and prove yourself in a proper league and proper football town.

    He’ll be in by Wednesday.

I agree OP. Even if people think it won’t work they should keep those opinions to themself to give it a chance. Otherwise if people say it will fail it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Its like pouring cold water on a fire then saying see I told you it would go out. If this protest fails because we decided to give Bruce a chance like we did all the other losers, then it will be so much harder to get a good protest later down the line. We’ve suffered to many crap managers who were heading to league 1. Enough is enough.

Nicky, you’d have to be crazy to ask to be paid in sterling. If I was getting that much I’d ask for euros, dollars or yuan depending where I planned to spend that money. I’ve been back in england a month and the money I transferred has already lost 100 quid in value compared to the yuan. And they’re in the midst of a trade war and riots which threaten their whole system. Imagine what it would be like if the Chinese weren’t in turmoil? It pains me to see the pound sinking although ultimately its good for the likes of us working abroad.

Jetro either naturally has a head shaped like a cantaloupe melon, or he’s lacking a bit of condition. Who play’s left back for us v Arsenal, if neither he nor Matt Ritchie is fit. Surely not poor Rolando Aarons, a lamb to the slaughter. Their attack is fantastic. Four at the back for this one. Schar, Lascelles, Fernandez and Dummett.
