Report – Midfielder Target To Make Newcastle Decision On Tuesday

Le 10 Sport is reporting that Thiago Maia will make a decision between Genoa and Newcastle on Tuesday.

This tweet translates to:

Thiago Maia has to make a decision tomorrow (Tuesday). Transfer Offer from Genoa (7M € + 50% resale) or Newcastle loan offer (with higher salary than Genoa)

The link to Maia resurfaced Sunday night with reports from France that Newcastle had renewed their interest in the Brazilian. It was reported earlier today that Newcastle had made a better offer for the defensive midfielder.

However, that offer appears to be in salary and not in a transfer fee. The French outlet is reporting that Maia will have to decide between joining Genoa on a permanent or Newcastle on loan. With Newcastle, he would reportedly get higher wages.

We are not sure if their will be an option to buy in the deal but if we could get Maia in this week that would be excellent news. Like Jetro Willems, a loan deal with an option to buy might not be a bad idea. Both players saw a massive dip in form last season so maybe Newcastle are just taking precautions by only offering a loan deal initially.

Twatter is saying Ludwig Francilette (or something). 20yo CB who played 7th tier French footy last year, is who was in the picture yesterday.

    The new Sebastian Bassong

I personally see Ritchie as a left wing back now if I’m honest. Thought he did well and thought he was able to have more impact getting in crosses higher up the pitch than on the right wing.

Ritchie himself has said as much in a couple interviews how he’s enjoying it and likes the position.

Him and Willems are good options at lwb imo.

would have liked to see a move for harry wilson rather than a player from another country….just cannot expect players to fit in straightaway and you dont get time in premier … thurs will define season losing premier players and replacing with unknowns can decide which division we will be in next season ..imho hayden is the key .

Thing is, if Bruce is talking about having 5 strikers then:

    Joelinton
    Almiron
    ASM
    Gayle
    Muto

Leaves Atsu, Aarons and Murphy without a position.

Ritchie down as a defender in the FF, bloody expensive one too considering his lack of points in that position. Could be worth a punt mind if he goes back to his natural position and if Brewcey gets us playing this neat attacking footballing he’s never managed in a twenty year managerial career.

A £25 million net spend sounds good until you consider we’ve lost Rondon, Perez, Diame, to name but 3 whose total value in terms of quality only could be estimated at £100 million.
