Newcastle have reportedly signed French defender Ludwig Francillette for Neil Redfearn’s U23 side. This is what is being reported by Lee Ryder in the Chronicle.
#nufc U23s close to announcing the signing of Ludwig Francillette. A French-born 20-year-old defender.

The 20-year-old central defender was spotted yesterday talking photos while holding up the shirt at St James Park. Mark Douglas has also done a report on the new signing in which he confirms it was Francillette in the photos.
NUFC set to announce under-23 signings – as they continue work on a right-back.

Steve Bruce had mentioned to NUFC TV recently that the club was looking to bolster the U23s.
“We’ve put aside some money to bolster the under-23s. We’ve done two or three in that area and I don’t think we’re quite finished yet.”
Newcastle have already signed Kyle Scott and Jake Turner on free transfers this summer. They are also battling it out with Brighton over the transfer of 18-year-old Moussa Sissako from PSG. The young defender is said to be deciding on which club to join in next day or so.
Ludwig Francillette is a central defender who reportedly had an unsuccessful trial at Scottish club St Mirren last month. We would expect him to be announced today as he has already had his photos taken.

Hard to see in that article why they’d loan Austin if he is in the last year of his contract .surely they be wanting to do a permanent deal .
Preferred you lalana suggestion if he was available .
Hypothetical but I think Calvert Lewin from Everton would be a good fit for us

Comment #4So if Murphy is on way out on loan then that should free up a squad place in the team for another player.
Is it a new incoming player? Is it for saivet? Or Wor Jack?

Comment #8So yeah, seems Wilson is on his way to Bournemouth now. Loan deal. Don’t know how strong our interest in him was like but it will be something worth keeping an eye to see how he progresses there.

Comment #22Pretty much the same story everytime. As soon as MA thinks the squad is “good enough” to survive, we dont bother trying to improve the squad.

Comment #26I suspect Rafa is smiling knowingly looking at our spending this window!
Gone are Perez, Rondon, Diame! In are Joelinton, Maximin and an overweight right back loan signing.
Result predictable a run on season tickets and I can’t lie I’m quite excited about the new boys but there’s NO way we’re stronger than last year and of course we’ve lost our biggest asset – Rafa!
It’s not looking great to be honest; having an idiot for a ceo doesn’t help!

Comment #27one fine day, in response to the previous, yeah, in this day and age where everyone wants the ball and everyone is much happier with the ball at their feet, i would suggest rafa is anti football. Ask anyone who plays the game at any level, from sunday league right up, no one wants to be defending, nobody wants to run around chasing for 90 minutes, everyone of them want to play with the ball at their feet.
When pardew was in charge i remember there was talk of us having 4 defensive training session per offensive one and there was a lot of people slating that at the time. Think now about rafas training sessions, can you imagine the ratio being much different? Just because he has a great footballing CV, and has won some of the best trophies available, doesn’t mean he is above criticism.
Watching Newcastle in the past few years has often been slightly more entertaining then watching paint dry, so yes, i am looking forward to a few hammerings both ways around, it will be nice to see some goalmouth action for a change.
