Report – Newcastle To Offload Six Senior Players Over The Next 48 Hours

The Daily Star is reporting that Newcastle will move six senior members of the squad over the next couple of days.

The players that the report have identified are goalkeeper Rob Elliot, left-back Achraf Lazaar, right-back Jamie Sterry, midfielders Henri Saivet and Jack Colback, as well as winger Jacob Murphy.

Jacob Murphy reportedly has four Championship clubs looking to take him on loan for the upcoming season.

None of these are particularly surprising except for maybe Rob Elliot as Steve Bruce has repeatedly said he will name 3 goalkeepers in the 25 man squad. However, there is twenty-year-old Jake Turner in the reserve squad and maybe he can be relied upon as the third-choice keeper. It would be a risk but he would not count towards the 25 man squad.

Rob Elliot– just one year left on contract

With Newcastle looking at bringing in either Emil Krafth from SC Amiens or Youssouf Sabaly from Bordeaux, Jamie Sterry was always going to go out on loan. If Newcastle do bring in one of those two targets, they would then have three first-team choices at right-back with DeAndre Yedlin, Javier Manquillo, and the new signing.

Achraf Lazaar, too, was always likely to be sent out on loan. Jetro Willems was brought in on loan from Frankfurt this past Friday and he will provide competition for Matt Ritchie at the left wing-back position. There is also Rolando Aarons who started on the left on Saturday as well as Paul Dummett who can provide cover.

We are hoping that Thiago Maia will be confirmed soon for the midfield. The latest reports on his situation are that Newcastle appear to be in the lead to capture him. He has to decide between Genoa and Newcastle over the next few days.

If Maia comes in then we should be set at midfield with Jonjo Shelvey, Isaac Hayden, Sean Longstaff, Ki Sung-yueng, and Maia. Depending on whether Matty Longstaff goes on loan or not, he could also provide some cover in the position.

This would leave no room for Henri Saivet or Jack Colback so both of them will likely be loaned out again as they have been for the past two seasons. Though if Matty Longstaff does go out on loan, we should maybe keep one them as cover.

We expect a lot of movement out over the next few days and a few signings still to come in. There is also a lot of news about Dwight Gayle being on the way out in a permanent move too. That would mean we would definitely need another striker to come in.

That’s the message we need the fans to hear, all the rubbish laying blame at fans doors is shameful

So you want everybody to go to the game and create a great atmosphere so you can sit at home and enjoy it on the TV in Chicago … Ahhh now I get it – sorry mate, don’t want to spoil your TV viewing

    missed the bus repost:

All told this year will be judgment for Bruce… Rafa would have kept this lot up and we all know it cause we all saw what he did in his years with us. If we go down Bruce will own it. This is SBs last look in if he doesn’t keep us up I don’t think he’ll ever get another Prem league appointment if he doesn’t. As for us fans Ashley has mugged us again, we’ve no hope of finishing top 10 and pundits we’ll be telling us how grateful we should be and lucky we are if Bruce keeps us above 15th. The biggest indictment of us all was in a HT show early in the year Macca took us down; a sports pundit here in Canada (Craig Forrest former gk of Ipswich Town fame for getting hammered by ManU for 9 and later played for the Hammers) said and pretty much said (because it stuck in my head since that day):

“Newcastle is a lower mid-table club and the fans know it, they’ll be happy to finish between 10 and 15 this year”

    War time….

Going into battle after battle but your CO will not invest in the proper equipment, stores, rations or troops.
You don’t really hear from your CO but your SSM / Sgt Maj is the face of command leading from the front.

Due to the lack of investment your track record in battle is not great but galvanised under the SSM you are a team that will go for it and help each other.

The CO lets the SSM leave along with your two top snipers. The SSM from the Stores Section is now in charge and the new troops are unknown.

The CO has bought you an egg banjo from the NAAFI wagon though.

That does not inspire unity and the strength to go into battle. The ground works may still be there but the belief is gone and the desire to put yourself on the line will wither.

    CO = MA.
    SSM = Rafa.
    Stores SSM = Bruce.
Top snipes = Rondon + Perez.

Yeah Rafa is gone but you can ram your advice for unity and total support until I see some reason to give it.

People will make their own minds up whether or not to boycott, regardless of what people post on here.

The mood in the city is quite clear. Fans are sick of it. Not all of them believe in a boycott, but they all seem to want something to happen. You hear people talking about it in bars, on buses, metros, even in the streets. People are going to do what they are going to do now, no matter what Pro boycotters or anti boycotters say on this blog. There’s literally no point in either side trying to shout down the other on here. It will make no difference as to what happens on Sunday.

If Miggie continues to struggle with scoring and Maximini can’t put it in the net either then I would say we’ll have a problem. We’re too limited in our scoring. It’s a huge mistake again Ashley. Can Gayle bag 10? We had better hope so. It can’t just all be left to wor Joe.

It is like some on here WANT us to fail. There are certain miserablists in life that aren’t content unless they are complaining (Lesh).

I would like Ashley out, but not if we end up with a Stewart Donald type.

I think a boycott is self defeating and we should get behind the lads.

I also think the crowd will be more than 45k on Sunday.

I also think it will be a draw, despite the boycotters.

Tuesday was reported as decision day for Maia.
It’s nearly Wednesday so hope that Charnley knows how many days are in the week and that this is a short week with the window closing Thursday.
    Needs sorting.
Along with some other incomings as we’re still a striker short among others.

People seem more concerned with the style of our football than state of our club.

If Brucey plays attacking football they can forgive all Ashleys sins.

Blind faith with a few hail Marys,
No wonder they say football is a religion.

I’m sure those who are boycotting think that doing nothing is also self defeating. I’m also pretty sure that if someone thought of a strong alternative to boycotting, they’d be all over it. If boycotting is the only option, then how can you blame them, and criticise them, unless you offer an alternative. Doing nothing is not really an “option”, it’s the lack of one.

They have no idea of the goal of the boycott outside of squeezing their eyes weally weally tight, stamping their feet and shouting ASHLEY OUT!

They simply haven’t thought through their actions and it’s why I’m not on board.

Have they thought about the fact if in another universe Ashley is literally forced into a position where he has to sell fast and take less than he wants, at that point he will not care who he sells to and would in fact be sufficiently motivated to sell to the worst possible buyer forthcoming?

Markaccus: a boycott in the current circumstances where nothing will shift the Fat Man is detrimental to the team and our chances against Arsenal. We have a new 40 million pound striker and a 17 mil winger, as well as MIggy and Longstaff coming back from injuries. We need to back them.

Doing nothing is neutral. If we are playing well a good atmosphere might help.

A bad atmosphere outside the ground will hinder and certainly won’t affect Ashley’s willingness to sell.

That ship has sailed. He is not selling, if he ever really was of the mind to. No matter what Geordie Dentists and Dubious Mickeys might say.

    HWA & Tony

You two must live in a parallel universe if you think Mike Ashley cares who’s paying him.

All he cares about is £££££££££

I’m glad we’ve had this conversation, I now see you’re both completely deluded.

There can be no other explanation for your belief that Ashley cares about Nufc.

In the Prem keeping the ££££ rolling in is all he cares about, with minimum outlay obviously.
