Report – Newcastle To Offload Six Senior Players Over The Next 48 Hours

The Daily Star is reporting that Newcastle will move six senior members of the squad over the next couple of days.

The players that the report have identified are goalkeeper Rob Elliot, left-back Achraf Lazaar, right-back Jamie Sterry, midfielders Henri Saivet and Jack Colback, as well as winger Jacob Murphy.

Jacob Murphy reportedly has four Championship clubs looking to take him on loan for the upcoming season.

None of these are particularly surprising except for maybe Rob Elliot as Steve Bruce has repeatedly said he will name 3 goalkeepers in the 25 man squad. However, there is twenty-year-old Jake Turner in the reserve squad and maybe he can be relied upon as the third-choice keeper. It would be a risk but he would not count towards the 25 man squad.

Rob Elliot– just one year left on contract

With Newcastle looking at bringing in either Emil Krafth from SC Amiens or Youssouf Sabaly from Bordeaux, Jamie Sterry was always going to go out on loan. If Newcastle do bring in one of those two targets, they would then have three first-team choices at right-back with DeAndre Yedlin, Javier Manquillo, and the new signing.

Achraf Lazaar, too, was always likely to be sent out on loan. Jetro Willems was brought in on loan from Frankfurt this past Friday and he will provide competition for Matt Ritchie at the left wing-back position. There is also Rolando Aarons who started on the left on Saturday as well as Paul Dummett who can provide cover.

We are hoping that Thiago Maia will be confirmed soon for the midfield. The latest reports on his situation are that Newcastle appear to be in the lead to capture him. He has to decide between Genoa and Newcastle over the next few days.

If Maia comes in then we should be set at midfield with Jonjo Shelvey, Isaac Hayden, Sean Longstaff, Ki Sung-yueng, and Maia. Depending on whether Matty Longstaff goes on loan or not, he could also provide some cover in the position.

This would leave no room for Henri Saivet or Jack Colback so both of them will likely be loaned out again as they have been for the past two seasons. Though if Matty Longstaff does go out on loan, we should maybe keep one them as cover.

We expect a lot of movement out over the next few days and a few signings still to come in. There is also a lot of news about Dwight Gayle being on the way out in a permanent move too. That would mean we would definitely need another striker to come in.

Ok then. I totally agree with the boycott now. Will definitely force Ashely to sell to someone (Steve Wriath?). Call me Bobbybee.

I’m sure you’ll do your best to ensure you’re proven right on your 34pt prediction and thus likely relegation, such is your passion for Newcastle.

One problem with the “we buy ’em, you wedge ’em in” player acquisition model is of course there’s no accounting for the temperament of the players themselves. As we’ve seen in the past with the conveyor belt of upwardly mobile aspirants they pick and choose their moments to either shine, go on the sick or simply strike for a move. Changing room morale isn’t high on the list of desirables either. Hence our dizzying swings between decent victories and bafflingly awful beatings under the likes of Pardew. Hopefully the new boy novelty will settle into a decent run of results before the disaffection sets in but past experience tells us Stevie B will have his work cut out keeping the camp happy.

It is pretty simple. Football boycotts have never worked when you have a dictator as owner. The only thing they have ever “achieved” is to get the team relegated. Then you might depose the owner but you are in the 3rd division with no money and a shyte team.

I am not saying I have the answer, but I do know that in the present situation a boycott is not going to budge the Fat Man.

    Toontime,

I would rather be in the conference without the parasite than be where we are with it.

Been near the third division before. We would be back better without the parasite. I have given up giving him a name, we all know who the parasite is. If there is nothing to be gained the parasite would leave. It would leave.

So we should just pay our money and turn up, support, not protest and accept finishing just above relegation whilst the owner doesn’t support, doesn’t turn up, doesn’t invest and takes the pizz out of us – and that’s why we are where we are with who we are with indefinitely

    Message to boycotters:
    (A) NUFC supporters will be out in force, vocally SUPPORTING NUFC on Sunday
    (B) In the event of even a draw, n ever mind a glorious victory, said NUFC supporters will have helped a decent (or better) result, and will feel chuffed as h*ll
    (C) You sad sack boycotters will be revealed as a miserably small and insignificant minority of NUFC fans
    (D) The entire, futile, enterprise will be revealed as a fantasy; and, furthermore, as an entirely negative ( because futile) fantasy.
    (E) I fully accept you’re fully entitled to any such views/actions ( being entirely legal and peaceful), just saying it’s negative, not the positive spin you believe in, as well as futile.

So what do you suggest Tony? What action do you suggest that will drive the parasite out of our club. It’s easy to say don’t do this and don’t do that, so what action do we take to get rid? Do you need a postage stamp for your ideas?

Those who would self-immolate hoping Ashley catches some of the fire because they have sad, embittered lives can do one!

Would rather us be in the conference as long as Ashley is gone. Really? Just a saddo extremist.
