Freddie Woodman has given an interview posted at Swansea City’s website. He had an outstanding debut on Saturday as Swansea defeated Hull City 2-1.
This is what he has said about the competition at goalkeeper at Swansea which will hopefully keep him ready to perform.
“There’s a lot of competition. The other three goalkeepers are fantastic.
“We’re all pushing each other and trying to get the best out of one another.
“I believe that’s the way you get the best out of every single player and they’re certainly doing that with me.”
Freddie will compete with two 30-year-olds in Kristoffer Nordfeldt and Erwin Mulder for the number 1 spot. Hopefully he can hold down that spot after his start on Saturday. Having the two experienced keepers in the squad will also help keep him ready and push him to continue improving.
It is very important the twenty-two-year-old to get games this season as he continues his development. He agreed to a one year extension to his current deal just before going out on loan last week. This loan move will give him a chance to prove his worth and hopefully secure a long-term deal with Newcastle.
Here is an interview that Freddie gave after the victory posted on Swansea Twitter account. He seems absolutely delighted and we are happy that he was able to get into the side and settle so quickly.
