Newcastle usually don’t do much business on transfer deadline day though the last two windows did see them make moves on the final day. This past January, Newcastle brought in Miguel Almiron from Atlanta United for a then record fee of £20.5m.
The previous summer window saw Federico Fernandez arrive from Swansea for £6m on deadline day. So what should we expect for deadline day? Will there be any surprises?
It looks like Emil Krafth will be announced. The right-back had his medical today and has already agreed terms. So we expect the announcement of his £5m deal from SC Amiens to come at some point Thursday.
There also doesn’t look like there is anything going to happen with Lille defensive midfielder Thiago Maia as Lille reportedly will only agree to a permanent transfer while Newcastle want a loan deal.
Emil Krafth– should be announced on Thursday
With Jetro Willems signing on Friday and Emil Krafth set to be confirmed, that would presumably rule out moves for PSG left-back Stanley N’Soki and Bordeaux right-back Youssouf Sabaly.
We also still have to wait for confirmation on youth signing Ludwig Francillette as the 20-year-old Frenchman has already been spotted holding up the shirt in photographs.
Then there is the Moussa Sissako situation as he reportedly is to make a decision on a deal between Brighton and Newcastle. The 18-year-old PSG defender was supposed to have made that decision a few days ago so we will see what comes of that.
While all of these deals would be great, we have to wonder if Newcastle have anything of more significance pending. There should still be close to £25-30m in the budget. We also have heard that both Rolando Aarons and Jacob Murphy are set to leave on loan. That would leave Newcastle a little short in wingers.
This is what Andrew Musgrove wrote in the Chronicle when asked what else Newcastle were looking at improving after Emil Krafth.
Steve Bruce has mentioned the words “extra quality” a couple of times now.
Most positions are looking filled up but another wide player could still be a possibility – and if there is an astronomical bid from a
Championship club for Gayle that could make things very interesting.
While we know it is a long shot and probably won’t happen, but tomorrow Newcastle could really make a statement by going for Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen. He would cost about £20m but what a signing that would be.
We also thankfully have not heard any rumblings about any star players being linked with moves recently. We were worried about Martin Dubravka and his link to PSG but he spoke on that earlier in the week. The fear was that PSG would go for Dubravka if they sold Kevin Trapp to Frankfurt. Well, Trapp was sold to Frankfurt on Wednesday but there have been no reports of PSG coming for Martin.
We would have to hope that Newcastle would have the sense to not entertain any offers for any first-teamers this late in the window. And we will also have to see if there is a squad place left available for Andy Carroll.

Newcastle
Sam Allardyce didn’t take the job, Sean Longstaff is going nowhere and Joelinton and Miguel Almiron could strike up a partnership that means Rondon and Perez wont be missed. God willing, someone with vision will take the club out of Satan’s clutches this season.

Comment #89We are the only club in the world with a parasite that either strangles or sucks the commercial income from it.
We are the only fans unable to dream of winning the league or a cup, even the mackems get that.

Comment #95I would love to be a fly on the wall when charnley is trying to persuade players to come and play for us,what exactly is he telling them.He can’t tell them we have ambition because they only have to look at our league place finishes under jabba. What actually were St Max’s thoughts when he seen our training ground compared to the one he left at Nice?.Young players are ambitious and want what’s best for their careers’s.

Comment #99I stand by my post Bills Son and I think many do. The problem you have is that you are confrontational not just opinionated. You talk of people “screaming” about boycotts and ascribe hysteria to people who are merely fed up and want to do something to help their club out of a mess you can’t detect.
As I see it there are fans who are upset about Mike Ashley’s United. And there are fans who are upset about fans who are upset about Mike Ashley’s United.

Comment #103Billson i’d support u 100% to put across your own viewpoint, a lot of which is quite fair. For a start it would seem you dont love Ashley, despite some guys here swearing you do. I got it in the neck because i started making some observations on rafa which people didnt like and it gets heated at time. Kilcline said same last night, and N Y mag too i think. Lets save the derision for the mackems who join us now and again.

Comment #117Andy Carroll is a free agent and he doesn’t have to sign today,
he’s also not expected to be fully till September,
when club announce the squad numbers tomorrow if they leave a number vacant there might be a chance of him coming back but if they fill all the spots that’s the door shut. personal as much as i loved him i don’t want him back way past his sell by date in the Prem

Comment #118I hope even with the boycott the fans get behind the team. I would love some sort of anti Ashley message for fans in the stadium, maybe everyone wearing sh*t direct t-shirts or get out of our club banners.
