Newcastle After Ligue 1 Attacker They Have Been Scouting Since Last Year

Get French Football News has a report out that Newcastle are trying to bring in Bordeaux winger Francois Kamano on deadline day today. Newcastle have been scouting Kamano for some time.

The 23-year-old would command a fee of around €15m and is also being tracked by Monaco and Genoa. Liverpool were reportedly also interested in the attacker last month.

Kamano is a right-footed forward who primarily plays on the left. However, he can play as a centre-forward or on the right as well.

Last season he had 13 goals and 4 assists in 51 appearances for Bordeaux. The season before he managed 8 goals and 6 assists in 39 appearances.

Kamano is a Guinean international who has 23 caps for his country. He joined Bordeaux in from Bastia in 2016 for a fee of just £2m.

His contract runs until 2021 and according to the reports in France, Bordeaux want to cash in on him this summer.

Here is a video of the player from a few weeks ago when he was linked with Liverpool.

    Liverpool were interest last week.

What I expect is “we tried but couldn’t get him over the line.”

He’d be a world class signing but can’t see it happening with us. He’ll probably head to Liverpool in January.

Forgot how funny that interview was
“Is he fast?” It’s a question a 8yr old would ask

“Can we get another one in? What’s he like, is he fast?’

    “Yes Mike,he’s fast”

“Great, tell him to not wear any football boots,i always run faster in socks”

    “Ok Mike”

It looks like Gayle is staying.
WBA have given up on him
    and are asking Southampton
    about Charlie Austin.
    Ha ha ha

I think Gayle will do OK as an impact striker
    later in the game.

He was top scorer for 2 seasons at Crystal Palace
    in that role.
