Report – 18-Year-Old PSG Defender’s Deal To Newcastle Is Off

Get French Football News is reporting that Moussa Sissako will not be joining either Newcastle or Brighton this summer.

It had been reported that deals from both clubs had been agreed upon and that it was up to Sissako to decide between the two.

However, it appears that while both clubs did have contract proposals on the table neither could reach a full agreement. We would expect Newcastle to continue to work on getting Sissako to Newcastle over the course of this year.

Bruce recently mentioned that the club are going to invest in the U23 squad. They also should be announcing the signing of 20-year-old defender Ludwig Francillette in the near future.

We hope that they are able to continue strengthening the U23s as they have failed to produce many first-teamers over the years. Though they do look to have a couple of local lads in Sean and Matty Longstaff set to come through big time.

Everyone slating potentially signing Carroll because of his injuries. That’s the whole reason we haven’t rushed and signed him already, he had ankle surgery to try and fix the long standing issue he’s had over the past 2 seasons, which is why we and a few other clubs no doubt have been waiting to test his fitness following it.

To put it simply, I would much rather have Carroll on the bench in place of Joselu. Defenders are scared to play against him because he will bully them. Teams last season would have been laughing whenever we brought Joselu on.

If I was excited about Carrol coming home I’d section myself.

Keeping Carrol instead of selling him would have shown ambition

Bringing him back is the fat man laughing at the fans and another 2 fingers.

Cant wait for Carol and Wearside Jack to tell me what a great guy Ashley is.

I would be happy with Carroll coming in IF we were bringing in yet another striker after him for cover. But we all know that won’t happen.

Andy Carroll had his time years ago – he’s more likely to be injured most of the time. Historic evidence suggests this.
    No thanks.

What are we saying? Carroll or who? Or is it nobody? People want nobody instead of somebody?

Sliema – the negative in Carroll coming is we are relying on a sick note to cover Joelinton incase he gets injured. Carroll as good as he is as a player what good will he do if he won’t be able to play? I prefer we spent our limited budget on a quality backup striker like Olivier Giroud. Consistent and reliable.

Llorente is a better bet than Carroll. He’ll actually be able to contribute too.
Spent 2 years on the bench like scored 15 goals for Swansea before that.

Ashley has made signing anyone over 29 extremely difficult, this has his rubber stamp all over it.

I dont rate Carol, I didn’t when we sold him, I definitely dont want him back now, I really would have Shearer in the team before him.

Everyone has been saying give Bruce a chance He’ll play more attacking football, looks like hoof ball with a big guy to me.

No thanks, I’d like to go fowards not backwards.

I get that. I certainly don’t think he is ideal by any means, and I’d take your arm off for Giroud instead! But I just don’t think anyone else is coming in, that is starting to look obvious, so it’s probably going to be Carroll or nobody. And at that point when it’s not our money I can’t see why we would choose the latter.

Looks like it’s full steam ahead for Andy Carroll’s return to Newcastle. He’s agreed personal terms. Initial one-year contract. I know they say “Never go back”, but he’ll be utterly ecstatic about rejoining #NUFC.

I’d take AC back purely for the nostalgia element.

I might submit a cheeky bid for Colback – I could stand him out with the lads when they are working outdoors, once he turns red it is time for a break in the shade. He could also sort out the pepperami section of the Chandlery on rainy days.

dont know why some of you would not want AC back,,fair enough he will not start games but to have him sitting on the bench gives us a plan B ,if we can get him on pay as you play or even short contract its a no brainer , even not full fit can still cause havoc for last 20 mins or so, AC in ….ASHLEY OOT

Silema- if I were absolutely certain no one else would be coming instead of Carroll then yeah off better have Carroll than nobody as cover. But even then if that were the case I wouldn’t sell Gayle to sanction the deal to bring in Carroll either. Gayle AND Carroll as back up is better than only Carroll or better than selling Gayle and getting no on else in.

The one thing Carroll may be able to offer the other players is places to score from.

    Gayle isn’t leaving.

Reminds me of last year when people were moaning about Rondon.

This time last year our ST options were an unfit Rondon, Joselu and Muto who Rafa was reluctant to use.

Now we’ll have Joelinton, Gayle, Carroll, Muto.

Joelinton is being very underestimated I think.

Gayle likewise will thrive in a team and formation which will suit him much better. Last time he played for us in the PL was when he and Shelvey clicked 2nd half of our first season back, playing as the lone ST in a defensive 4-2-3-1. With another ST beside him occupying defenders and not only a happy Shelvey but Shcar and Longstaff capable of picking out his runs he can match Rondon’s tally with the same number of games.

#Boycott didn’t rate Carroll when we sold him? Oh yeah, he was only tracking Shearer’s goal record at the time and terrifying defences – not good enough!

No wonder you’re more interested in the politics of the club and get entrenched in that, because you know eff all about football.

Carroll coming in is very good for us, him and Gayle as back up strikers with Almiron and Maximin able to step in as needed is good cover.

Those talking about Giroud why even bother, hr would never come here. Carroll will and be passionate about it

I currently have the 25 man squad as this. Removed Jacob Murphy as assuming his loan deal goes ahead fine.

    GOALKEEPER
    Martin Dubravka
    Karl Darlow
    Rob Elliot

    WING BACK
    DeAndre Yedlin
    Javier Manquillo
    Jetro Willems
    Matt Ritchie
    Emil Krafth

    CENTRE BACK
    Jamaal Lascelles
    Fabian Schar
    Florian Lejeune
    Paul Dummett
    Federico Fernandez
    Ciaran Clark

    CENTRE MIDFIELD
    Ki Sung Yueng
    Sean Longstaff
    Isaac Hayden
    Jonjo Shelvey

    WINGER/ATTACKING MIDFIELDER
    Allan Saint-Maximin
    Miguel Almiron
    Christian Atsu
    Rolando Aarons

    STRIKER
    Joelinton
    Dwight Gayle
    Yoshinori Muto

Where does Andy Carroll fit and who’s place does he take? Aarons?
