Report – 18-Year-Old PSG Defender’s Deal To Newcastle Is Off

Get French Football News is reporting that Moussa Sissako will not be joining either Newcastle or Brighton this summer.

It had been reported that deals from both clubs had been agreed upon and that it was up to Sissako to decide between the two.

However, it appears that while both clubs did have contract proposals on the table neither could reach a full agreement. We would expect Newcastle to continue to work on getting Sissako to Newcastle over the course of this year.

Bruce recently mentioned that the club are going to invest in the U23 squad. They also should be announcing the signing of 20-year-old defender Ludwig Francillette in the near future.

We hope that they are able to continue strengthening the U23s as they have failed to produce many first-teamers over the years. Though they do look to have a couple of local lads in Sean and Matty Longstaff set to come through big time.

The reports of £35m Longstaff bad is worrying. They might be desperate to bid a lot.

NUFC ‘agree’ Carroll deal – Personal terms & length of contract decided – The Times

According to the Times’ Oliver Kay, Andy Carroll has ‘agreed personal terms’ ahead of a potential move to Newcastle United, with an ‘initial ONE-year contact‘ lined up.

With this and the fact he’s available on a free in mind, it seems like 90% of the deal is complete, with the move now likely to hinge on his ability to pass a medical.

Here’s what Olivery Kay – the Times’ chief football correspondent – has had to say on his potential move to Newcastle in the last few moments, suggesting personal terms and length of contract are already agreed:

Looks like it’s full steam ahead for Andy Carroll’s return to Newcastle. He’s agreed personal terms. Initial one-year contract. I know they say “Never go back”, but he’ll be utterly ecstatic about rejoining #NUFC.

With the club keen, Carroll desperate to return (he’s been happy to take a ‘huge’ pay cut by all accounts) and Bruce an admirer, it seems everything is in place for him to complete return…provided he does pass a medical.

That will be the big test, but, if he’s fit to sign and seeming in decent shape following ankle surgery, I think this is a deal that could work very nicely for all parties.

    It looks like it’s happening!

Hail- yeah I am on the fence of Gaye leaving as I feel he has improved as a player and having a Strike partner can help him score more. But on the other hand with the money from his sale we could get a quality player in.

But if Carroll comes in we can’t sell Gayle to sanction it.

If they both stay then I guess it’s a good deal.

As revealed last month, Andy Carroll is heading back to #nufc on a deal that will see him earn a relatively small basic wage with lucrative appearance and goal bonuses. Definitely worth the risk and very much a deal Steve Bruce pushed for as soon as he arrived as manager

    I see it like this:

Carroll has finally had surgery on his ankle and time to recover properly with it. Instead of resting it and then coming back when it ‘feels better’ or like the first surgery atthe start of last season coming back mid-season with a manager who wanted to get him back on the field asap.

Add to that it sounds like he’s got a low basic salary and incentive of appearance fees he will look after himself better.

I’m sure he’s keen to be a success again too and doesn’t want to disappoint. He’ll be fully aware of some fans obsessing over his injury record. Playing in the B&W gives him a bit extra, I always said that when first watching him for Liverpool. Heart wasn’t in it. He got a bit of that back at West Ham.

Get him in, fully up to speed and start using him after the first international break. Carabao Cup 3rd round is about September 23rd I believe, that’s a good target for a start.

“No wonder you’re more interested in the politics of the club and get entrenched in that, because you know eff all about football.”
I was thinking exactly the same
I’ve been looking back through his posts on the rare occasions he talks footy
    He’s a complete dunce.
I doubt he’s ever attended a live footy game
If he has – what a waste of money

I’d happily let Gayle and Yedlin go, and would love to see a quality DM, and another top winger in.

Think Gayle might be tough to shift now because of his wedge, so I guess he’s staying, which is ok if we do have Carroll. Think Yedlin may go though. We surely don’t need 6 fullbacks. We do need another mid however, or we’re gonna get stuck with Colback or Saivet. Need 5 if we are going to play 3.
