Carroll is still injured from his surgery at West ham. I foresee him being back around December.

    Munster,
A bit rich coming from you asking people to get behind Bruce when you tore in to Rafa within one game. Will you be slating( sorry, offering fair and balanced tactical analysis) Bruce for bringing on Muto for Joelinton after 7- mins be considered getting behind Bruce and the team?

    Repost from last night:

The main issue to me seems that some are more keen for this boycott to go ahead, personally I hope we do still boycott in numbers that show the world how we feel, but i also dont fear of those dont follow in my footsteps and boycott.

The problem for the staunch rafa followers and boycott pushers is it’s been a good window and no doubt some may have 2nd thoughts and go back, good luck to anyone who does as it’s your choice. The issue is some seem very bitter at this being a good window and they fear the boycott is dead, hence the drumming home of PR exercise etc etc.

Honestly man grow up, call things as they are. Bottom line is we all support the club and these divisions or attempts to divide only further us from being united and ultimately play right into Ashley’s hands of dividing.

I cant stand the bloke, I’m not happy about Bruce being manager but I’m man enough to say this is a good window, I’d have snapped your hand off in may if I was told this would be our squad!!

Rondon would’ve been perfect though but we didn’t get him.

Shame rafa wasnt backed, I’d like to think he would’ve made the right signings for us. However this isnt a given, not long ago the lad from the Dutch league was someone who rafa really wanted, his name escapes me. Danish international who looked absolutely shocking, yet we apparently wanted to break our transfer record on him.

It is what it is, the man has gone. Like it or hate it Brice is here, let’s see if he gets off scott free for getting things wrong or will those who defended rafa to the hilt have double standards and jump on bruce at the first chance they get!!

In all seriousness, let’s just try to get on. Try to get Ashley out and keep our anger directed at Ashley!!

I’d hold Carroll back until after the first international break. Let him get in the best shape he’s been in for years before unleashing him. No need to rush it, that’s what has likely been a contributory cause to his various injuries in the past. Managers just wanting to get him on the pitch asap.

I think we could have a decent season IF Bruce can keep the defence well drilled, organised and ensure it’s a collective effort. He’s never shown this before at his clubs but who knows, may be able to click. He’s got the tools. Core of the team remains, couple leaders there and with almiron and joelinton up top, he has two players who can and like to work hard and press. I mean it would actually be harder to not get a cohesive unit together. ASM when on it has ability to just walk past players and this is a quality we have lacked, he needs to be consistent though.

If we start leaking goals we are done and I predict relegation. It will be hard to find the balance and people expecting ‘attacking’ football are a little bit naive as when we have tried to open up in recent history with the same team we have been put to the sword.

That’s before you start thinking about who will get the goals but there’s pace, skill and a bit of power in the team so there should be goals in it. Just nobody proven to score regularly which understandably worries some.

Carroll can get as fit as he wants, he’s damaged now. Have a look at West Ham fans comments on him and how he has alarmingly lost the sort of aerial ability he used to have.

It’s a bit like David haye I’m boxing, struggled with injuries, had reconstructive surgery, talks a good game but no matter how fit he got or ready he was, it was too late and damage has been done and is no longer anywhere near to where he once was.

He may be a ‘nice lad’ but off field he’s not what I like in players. Not professional, likes to party, drink and do a few lines. Reportedly breaking curfew when team when away while fit and gets injured trying to climb a balcony or something. Denied it of course, even though he got injured , but there’s a few instances of this type of thing you hear about and there’s no smoke without fire.

    Ronaldo

I bet he will prove you and them – a small contingent of them fluent in hyperbole – wrong. He was playing injured having not fully recovered from his first ankle surgery properly last season.

Jail, you have lied about this for quite a while. Did you admit to the blog yet that you lied that I wanted Pearson ahead of rafa ??

So Jail, I didnt “tear into” rafa after a game. We did ok against Leicester. But when I saw the dross effort against Sunderland, wjom we played off the pitch away from home, i started getting concerns. I have highlighted them fairly over time, and also highlighted his good stuff – eg lack of injuries to players. But you have singularly refused to accept that your angel might have failings. Well guess what fella, you were wrong. Your other issue was that you equated rafa with Ashley too directly. You tied the two up directly – stupidly. You could not accept ANY criticism – even when we were having 30% possession against teams like cardiff . You could NEVER accept criticism of his late subs. Thankfully, many people started to realise that these issues were correct, whilst you and a small few others stuck your head in the sand and shouted me down. Imagine if you had supported man u and a fan dared to question Fergie – you might have hung him. You really are stupid and have shown your myopic tendency time and time again. As for Bruce – I will give him every chance – and be fair and balanced with him aswell. Perhaps you should do the same.

Our Toon, yes Rafa wanted to buy the big Danish lump who was rubbish , for 20mill. He also wanted Kennedy for 20 mill. He also was furious that Sturridge the crock let him down. He bought a crap goalie, a rubbish fullback and a rubbish 10 mill winger, and Muto ( but we blame Charnley for that. Obviously) . He also got some top buys like Schar and a top loanee like Rondon. See Jail , FAIR AND BALANCED. Its ok to admit that your hero ballsed up quite a bit too! Dick.
