Newcastle Youth Target May Now Make Move To Ligue 2

Newcastle were reportedly close to signing PSG defender Moussa Sissako this summer. Both Newcastle and Brighton had offers on the table for 18-year-old but neither deal could not be concluded.

We had hoped that Newcastle would return with a move for Sissako in January to add to the academy. Steve Bruce had said that there were funds set aside to add youth players but the club only ended up adding free agents.

After today’s very disappointing opener for the Under-23s, they need to refocus their efforts on adding young talent.

France Football is reporting that French Ligue 2 side Le Havre is going all out to bring Moussa Sissako in this summer.

If Newcastle really wanted Sissako and were lining up a winter move for the defender, they are now powerless to prevent him from moving to Le Havre. The French transfer window is open until September 2nd and PSG are said to be willing to sell Moussa Sissako for the right price.

The issue for Le Havre is what price that happens to be. They have thus far not spent any money in the transfer market instead relying on free transfers and loans. It depends on what fee PSG would expect for their academy product whether Le Havre can make the deal.

The Le Havre academy, incidentally, is where Newcastle plucked Charles N’Zogbia from in 2004. The ultimately ended up have to pay the club a ÂŁ250k as compensation for N’Zogbia.

So we’re not getting Mousey Pistachio then? That was quite a match between Reading and NUFC U-23’s. 6-0? We showed them a thing or two.

Can hardly wait for Mr. Brucie’s subs against Norwich. Hayden off for an extra keeper possibly?

Isn’t there an actual manager available to run the club? There must be somebody. Oh wait that’s right. Wor owner is toxic now for incoming managers who have a clue.

I’ll be very busy over that period of time (not sure what period of time he meant). Errr, I’ve been meaning to get hair implants for several years now so I’m off to California.”

Marty is very selective about the clubs he works for. When I asked him about Sunderland he explained it was all a nasty mistake. He thought they were referring to the South Cumberland Lint Packers when he took the job. Unbelievably bad hearing wor Marty has…..

Yeah, it’s very odd Jane. He didn’t have Ki on the bench primarily I’d say, so when Shelvey got the knock we were in trouble. That was the first blunder and would have been a straight swap. It mightn’t have been too bad had he put Willems on there and left him there, he played there last term for Frankfurt, but after two minutes he had moved to left wing back, with Ritchie in an unaccustomed central mid role, which is apparently what he wanted when he sent Willems on. Maybe he sees Ritchie or Almiron in those two Hayden and Longstaff positions as an option going forward, worryingly. Actually there’s a bit to worry about, given the bench and the subs. Looks a bit like he doesn’t quite now what he’s got yet, and how he wants to play as the game progresses.

When Willems came on in midfield, he really was all over the place in those two minutes. So if Bruce had given him instructions, which he must have, then either Willems wasn’t listening or Bruce had somehow gotten himself in a right mess. Pressure, maybe. Bruce is a better manager than that. It really was bizarre.

Even without Ki, he could’ve put St-Max on when Shelvey got injured, and gone 343, and kept a decent shape.
