Report – A Massive New Deal Awaits Young Star

Sean Longstaff signed his most recent contract last December. This was just prior to his breakout performances which saw him become linked with a £30m move to Manchester United throughout this summer.

Newcastle valued our local midfielder at closer to £50m which priced the Red Devils out of a move. However, they still have young Sean on the radar and now is the time to get him on a new deal.

Last week, Steve Bruce made comments about getting the core of his squad on new deals. Sean Longstaff was one of those players that Bruce wanted to get on a new contract.

The Times are reporting that Newcastle are in talks with Sean on a massive £80k/week contract.

They reportedly want to reward the Geordie with a new contract in wake of the interest from Manchester United. This would be a very wise move by the club to get Sean on a big deal.

It will be interesting if there is any talk of a release clause in the deal. Mike Ashley mentioned in his infamous Daily Mail interview of how he has learned from the £30m release clause in Ayoze Perez’s contract that was triggered by Leicester City.

If there is one inserted into a new contract for Sean we hope it will be a very high one. Newcastle need to do everything in their power to keep the young midfielder at the club.

The report in the Times also mentions that Sean’s younger brother Matty will be give a new deal as well. That is some encouraging news. Get them both signed up for the foreseeable future and try keep all bidders at bay.

Oh yes £80k will do very nicely thank you. And then the rest of the players’ll start to feel hungry and well, well, wasn’t Rafa trying to persuade Ashley to raise players’ wages?

Might we expect to hear of a new, larger paddling pool and new state of the art industrial size rubbish skips at the training centre?

80k a week.??? Not on Saturdays form. He needs to keep performing for a season if he wants to go to Manure. He would have gone if given the chance. Who would want to stay???

The boycott was a real disappointment. 45 to 47k is far too many.
Any future boycotters who quit the ground because of poor results will lack credibility.
Ashley would have every right to say that you came to Arsenal but are now boycotting because the results are bad. You are not boycotting against me but are giving up on the team. And he would be right.
Arsenal was the game to ram home the boycott.

What a load of codswallop, boycotting because of poor results what nonsense is that?
Watch the team, support the team, that is exactly what they want that’s exactly what they know the fans will do! That’s how fatty is still owner after 12 years! If you cannot understand that then there is no hope….

It just goes to show that the people writing these stories know nothing about our club.

There’s not a single player at SJP earning 80K and theres no way way that a kid with a dozen games under his belt is going to change that.

35K would be nearer the mark, if he’s lucky.
