The Newcastle United Twitter account has released the following tweet which also has a link to a collection of photographs of the squad training today.

One of the players we noticed in a few of the pictures is Jonjo Shelvey. Jonjo was pulled early in the second half for Jetro Willems against Arsenal this past Sunday. After the game, Steve Bruce had reported that the substitution was forced due to an injury to Jonjo.
It looks like there has been no lingering issue with Jonjo and the injury wasn’t much more than a knock. This is a bit of a relief as Jonjo will be an important player for Newcastle this season. It also appears he will be available for Norwich City on Saturday.
We expect Steve to still play the 3-5-2 formation he has been using since he was appointed in mid-July. With that formation’s reliance on three central midfielders, it would have been an issue to have lost Shelvey for an extended period of time this early in the season.
Jonjo has just come off of a nightmarish campaign last season as he struggled with a thigh injury that kept him sidelined for a good part of the year. We are looking forward to seeing what Jonjo can do this year in his playmaking role with players like Joelinton and Almiron leading the line. His vision should prove very helpful in creating chances for our front two at Norwich and throughout this season.

“Under the UK Companies Act, the secretary of state for the department for business, Andrea Leadsom, has the power to appoint an auditor to a quoted company if it fails to appoint one itself. The company must notify the department within a week via a notice to Companies House.”

Comment #13Alex Bruce if you read here ..Your old man is a good bloke but he’s no Rafa , KK or Sir Bobby.
He means well but we think he took the Job for his own reasons, his own ambition and ignored the fact that Mike Ashley is a dishonest man.
When Pardew took the Job other managers were ringing him up same day asking him why he was going to work for that creep !
So you see Alex (if your reading) your fatha is in league with Ashley and will become one of his yes men as Ashley manipulates. As the clock ticks by to January your Fatha will be told what to say and when to say it ..in fact if he has a think it will suddenly dawn on him he’s working for a dishonest dictator and he should resign ..hopefully he will realise he took the Job for selfish reasons and walk out.
Sad but true. Good look kidda.
Ashley is no reflection on your fatha but we all know where this is going .
It’s all going to end in tears.

Comment #14I hope Shelvey returns to match fitness but if he didn’t I wouldn’t be unduly concerned as I don’t know where Maximin would play in a 3-5-2 formation.
Against Norwich who are expected to attack on their first home game back in the Premiership we need three players to attack their back line with pace and power and that means starting with Almiron, Maximin and Joelinton.

‘Sides, when the knots unravel they may find that everything is not as it should be and will have no part in devious shennanaigans. If any exsist I need to say .

I read that article earlier it does make you wonder why Ashley is never held to the same scrutiny as others?
Is it because he has friends in high places that prevent him from being slagged off?
Most of the bigger pundits tend to be from one of the top 6 so they probably don’t care that much about us?
Could also be that they don’t want us to start doing well as with the size of the club we could potentially disrupt the top 6 ? Also its a lot more entertaining if we are protesting and moaning etc I would imagine…..

Glasgow Rangers receive one pound ..Ashley receives £59 pounds . Fact .

We receive 50 pence per Shirt Ashley and sports direct receive £64.50p allegedly.
What was that he said about no connection between Newcastle United money and sports direct money ?
Still going along to the match to give him your hard earned ?

Comment #30Apologies as this seems a bit off topic :p but what do you reckon our best lineup is? It seems like 4-3-3 fits our midfield and attack best, but Fabian has struggled in the past with a 4 man lineup and defense is our strongest asset so you would think its best to keep 5 at the back. Not sure how to fit these players with the team that keeps balance. Problem with trying to fit square pegs in round holes.
4-3-3
Almiron – Joelinton – St Max
Shelvey – Hayden – Longstaff
Dummet – Lascelles – Schar – Manquillo (Krafth?)
-Dubs-
5-2-3
Joelinton
Almiron St Max
Hayden Longstaff
Ritchie Manquillo (Yedlin)
Dummett – Lascelles -Schar
-Dubs

Dubravka
Schar – Lascelles – Dummett
Manquillo – Longstaff – Hayden – Ritchie
Joelinton – Maximin – Almiron
I think Dummett does not need to get (too) forward as Ritchie and Almiron will keep their right wing occupied.
I wasn’t impressed with Schar on Sunday. He is normally so reliable. If he is out of sorts I would replace with Fernandez.
I also wasn’t impressed with Longstaff and was wondering whether it was because he was unsure / uncomfortable with the three man midfield. He partnered Heyden so well last season that I would revert to the pair in midfield.
I prefer Ritchie to Jethro only because we know what we get with Ritchie, not so Jethro.
I’m not sure which wing Maximin should occupy. He seemed to come off the left wing and strike the ball with his right. Perhaps he should remain there or perhaps play alongside Joelinton, two big lads upfront. Almiron should have a free role as he is very good at running at defenders.
I think it will be a tough match as I was impressed with Norwich against Liverpool but playing their first game at home could give them the jitters and lose a bit of composure.
