Ki, Krafth, And Shelvey In Starting Eleven At Norwich City

Steve Bruce has announced his starting eleven for the today’s big match at Carrow Road.

As was reported earlier, Sean Longstaff is not in the first eleven but will be on the bench. The very experienced Ki Sung-yueng comes in for Sean in the midfield three alongside Isaac Hayden and Jonjo Shelvey.

Emil Krafth also comes in to make his debut at right wing-back with Javier Manquillo moving to the bench.

The rest of the team remains unchanged though Allan Saint-Maximin’s hamstring injury will not be risked as he is not in the team today.

This is the Norwich team that the lads will face this afternoon. It’s great to see Tim Krul back in the Premier League where he belongs.

Not liking our bench so far this season. Thought we’d seen the last of the ‘bringing on a leftback’ days until last week.

Still it’s early days lets see if we keep our shape for 90minutes this week.

Norwich probably going 4-2-3-1. I have to say, I was never a great fan of Krul so not expecting a masterclass today. I would like to see Krul being tested from distance to see what shakes out.

Muto our only attacking player on the bench, 4 defenders again on the bench. I hope we don’t go a goal down early on.

    Good changes.

Longstaff was a bit of a passenger last week and looked off the pace. Being cautious with him and his recovery is for the best.

Not particularly expecting much from Krafth over and above what Manquillo can provide, so can only end up pleasantly surprised if he shows more than that.

    Need a win boyos!

Krul was a shotstopper. I’d have us get some pressure on him and crosses is high. He’s a flapper

Not keen on the bench! Only Longstaff in the bench and full of defenders again!

Actually quite like the midfield we have KI will hopefully be the more advanced midfielder which suits him and he can score goals!!

Why no winger on the bench? Bruce baffles me with his benches doesn’t give us a lot of options to change tactics

catchy, Krul lived on his reputation from that Spurs game for years. I remember Begovic having a game similar to Krul’s performance against Tottenham. Not exactly something you got weekly from Krul. And we are talking about a much diminished Krul from those days.

Ancient what you talking about Krul’s best attribute is his shot stopping lol. Get the crosss in and surround him he will drop balls all day long.

We can always put Willems in and push Ritchie up if we need more in attack. We have Muto on the bench as well. No need to panic just yet. We are away after all.

Nufc-83, Krul is good at the theatrics. Fire a shot down the middle of the goal and he will flap like a salmon and make it looks spectacular. It’s all opinions I guess. I always preferred Harper to Given, and I am sure nearly everybody would disagree.

Yes, high press on panicky Krul as there’s mistakes in him and he is a poor kicker.Make the most of crosses against fat Hanley and the slight as CBs go Godfrey. Not much height or power in their side.

Almiron to attack that Hanley channel and leave him eating dirt.

Not a bad starting eleven, massive chance for our strikers to get off the mark, hopefully krafth hits the ground running.Pity the bench is weak as piss,we’re going to need to spend the rest of the transfer kitty in January on quality additions.3-1 to the toon.Hwtl.

Seem to be Bruce is only planing on playing one way and that’s 352. Only other option is 343 but that would mean muto on a wing.

Steve Bruce for the second week running has over packed the bench with defensive players and not brought enough strikers. Clearly no plan B in there

The pace of Almiron against the slow Grant Hanley should be interesting. He must learn not to overplay and release the ball when the opportunity arises.
Bobbybee is right if changes are needed bring on Willems at FB and push Ritchie further forward. Whilst Ritchie must be one of the best wing backs in the Premiership, I think “plans” for the future may include this.
