Newcastle Need To Find Answers Fast As They Trail 1-0 At Carrow Road

Norwich started on the front foot at Carrow Road and were all over Newcastle in the first half. They would fashion three excellent chances early on. The first required a terrific save at his near post from Martin Dubravka on a Todd Cantwell shot in the fifth minute.

A couple minutes later Pukki would collect a cross in the box but drag the shot wide of the post. He would get another chance a little later as Dubravka was again able to make a near-post save.

Newcastle would get some golden opportunities against the run of play. The first had Emil Krafth chest down a Ritchie pass in the box, but lacking composure, he fired the ball over the bar for a Norwich free-kick.

Martin Dubravka– keeping Newcastle in the game

Isaac Hayden was Newcastle’s brightest player, other than Dubravka, and made some tricky runs down the right.

He managed to put a couple of threatening crosses into the box, one of which Joelinton would head just wide. It was a chance he should have buried and could have changed the course of the game.

Newcastle just did not mark Norwich striker Teemu Pukki well at all, and it ended up costing them. He volleyed a weak clearance into the back of the net in the 32nd minute for the lone goal of the half. Martin Dubravka was able to get a hand on the shot but couldn’t to do much about it.

Newcastle have been completely dominated by Norwich who have enjoyed the bulk of possession and pulled all the strings.

There are only two attacking options on the bench for the Magpies in Sean Longstaff and Yoshinori Muto. Steve Bruce will have to find some answers at halftime or it’ll two opening losses for the boss.

Newcastle can still get back in this and salvage a result. They need to wrestle away some of Norwich’s control in the midfield and create more chances for the front two.

Krafth has showed how mediocre he is. At fault for 2 of our 3 goals conceded. More of our money wasted!

The sad truth is that whether you go to games and support the team…or you boycott…we are going down…Eitherways…

Gambling on players untested in the league…manager not good enough…Not even sure what hes trying to do…Can barely watch the game…

Maybe theyl get Pardew in aftr 10 games and ask us to get behind him…Or maybe thats always been the plan…Instead of Rafas replacement, get him in as our saviour…To reduce the animosity to him…

As I said yesterday, I’m going to be worried as long as Bruce is with us. This is just the beginning. Mikey and Lee will start the excuse campaign and then disappear very soon now.

THE WORST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE.. SPORTS DIRECT FC!!!

I said it before the season even started.. We will not get more than 25 points..
We went from a Ferrari to a Fiat, trading Rafa for that fat twat, Bruce..
He has no clue at all.. Hayden as the front midfielder of him, Ki and Shelvey.. Hayden is an excellent defensive midfielder, but going forward he is NOTHING. He GIVES NOTHING going forward. Instead Bruce puts Shelvey as the defensive one.. What the fcuk is he on?

I made a bet with a couple of mates, before the season started, that we would reach no more than 25 points..
After today we have ZERO from two games..
Next three games we face Watford, Spurs and Liverpool.. How many points in those three you reckon? ZERO is my bet..

And if you look at the next five games, i only see one game, where we might get points..

So thats a maximum of 3 points after 10 games..

BUT YOU LOT KEEP GOING TO GAMES… YOU LOT ARE DESTROYING THE CLUB TOGETHER WITH THE FAT FCUKING LIAR MIKE CASHLEY..

    WAKE THE HELL UP!!!

I only have a small bet, worth about 50 quid when we go down.

Well he’d better start counting the parachute payments for next season cos this team is going down!

All the fight has gone from all player but 2. The organisation has gone. The discipline has gone. The leadership has gone. The energy has gone.

We’ve got a £40m dud who doesn;t fancy it and are back to picking up lots of niggling injuries.

The players cooing about Bruce’s training sessions is because they’re obviously much less structured and demanding than Rafa’s.

A culture of casualness and lack of focus has been sown and it’s affected all but 1 or 2 of them already.

Only chance we stay up is if Bruce is gone by game five, somebody new is brought in and Gayle/Carroll get fit and stay fit.

    Back the boycott.

We are sh1te. We have potentially decent players but not a manager who can get the best out of them. No flexability in the system.
4 defenders on the bench ffs. No attacking midfielder in the 3 cms. Bruce is out dated and rigid. I don’t hate Bruce, I don’t even hold him completely responsible, but Ashley has assigned yet another person to a position beyond his capabilities.

Rafa will be swimming in a bed of Chinese money thinking thank god I didn’t sign up for another 3 years of this!!

Cause its not that the fans would be blaming Rafa for losing Rondon , Perez and replacing them with substandard replacements which is what Ashley wanted to do when they wanted Rafa to lose control in his new contract!!

Bruce could be a tactical genius but it means naught if he cannot get the players amped-up. The tempo just isn’t there… Norwich delivering an early season lesson in that regard, and Bruce should be thankful for the wake-up call.

Hayden has been our best playmaker. He’s more than just a ballwinner. Has the ability to be box to box. Does good work in the right channel.

Yes in a 3 he should perhaps be the protective DM though, because Shelvey is a chocolate fireguard and plainly cba, back to his worst.

    It’s immaterial anyway.

The problems are sown on the training pitch and in the dressing room. The decline in commitment, focus and organisation is clear already.
