Newcastle Need To Find Answers Fast As They Trail 1-0 At Carrow Road

Norwich started on the front foot at Carrow Road and were all over Newcastle in the first half. They would fashion three excellent chances early on. The first required a terrific save at his near post from Martin Dubravka on a Todd Cantwell shot in the fifth minute.

A couple minutes later Pukki would collect a cross in the box but drag the shot wide of the post. He would get another chance a little later as Dubravka was again able to make a near-post save.

Newcastle would get some golden opportunities against the run of play. The first had Emil Krafth chest down a Ritchie pass in the box, but lacking composure, he fired the ball over the bar for a Norwich free-kick.

Martin Dubravka– keeping Newcastle in the game

Isaac Hayden was Newcastle’s brightest player, other than Dubravka, and made some tricky runs down the right.

He managed to put a couple of threatening crosses into the box, one of which Joelinton would head just wide. It was a chance he should have buried and could have changed the course of the game.

Newcastle just did not mark Norwich striker Teemu Pukki well at all, and it ended up costing them. He volleyed a weak clearance into the back of the net in the 32nd minute for the lone goal of the half. Martin Dubravka was able to get a hand on the shot but couldn’t to do much about it.

Newcastle have been completely dominated by Norwich who have enjoyed the bulk of possession and pulled all the strings.

There are only two attacking options on the bench for the Magpies in Sean Longstaff and Yoshinori Muto. Steve Bruce will have to find some answers at halftime or it’ll two opening losses for the boss.

Newcastle can still get back in this and salvage a result. They need to wrestle away some of Norwich’s control in the midfield and create more chances for the front two.

    Not much to say really.

For the benefit of those who missed it, you missed a team which played neat one twos, fast and attacked with intent: Norwich.

Danishmag; it’s not the fans’ fault that the owner, manager and the team are shit. I no longer go but I don’t blame the people who still do for the ineptitude of our club. In fact I admire their loyalty.

Spurs , Liverpool , Leicester and Watford in our next couple of games we could be on the receiving end of a fair few pastings in that time!

Not withstanding all four play positive attacking flair football

Well our saving grace for the past 2 years was that Benitez got us to defend so well, we rarely lost by more than 1 so we was always in with a chance, infact We lost in the past 2 years only 3 times by 3, Watford, west ham and Liverpool……

Bruce has us hammered 3-0 by a newly promoted Norwich Side Who barely bought anyone and are hampered by injuries

It’s all becoming quite clear how badly We needed Benitez

Pukki looks decent wouldn’t you say lads? That first one was class. Their first hat trick in the Prem since ’93? Impressive.

Norwich have wanted the win so much more than us. They have challenged every ball and been way more physical and up for it than us for the whole match.

Joelinton only scored 10% of his teams goals last season. Hoffenheim scored 70!! Joelinton only got 7 of those and doesnt even play the way we want him too. We should have got their manager, Nagelsmann – next young German manager off the rank. not Bruce, the next old Englishman heading to extinction.

How long will it take Mr.Blobby to ruin Andy & Max. It will be more like Paddy & Max. Still we have Lejeune to come back to shore up the defence.
Surely he could have found places for Colback, Aarons, Saviet and Lazaar in this set up

The first thing that should happen is to sack Charnley as a fckin gesture of this mammoth cock up. How can you go from last season to this!

Why are we playing him defensive midfield?

I just hope “The 300” are protesting again next home game and are ripping the p1ss out of the47.000 fans on their way to SJP next home game.

All that organising that went into protests V Arsenal game, it looks like there was no need. Bruce will empty SJP on his own without even breaking sweat !!
