Self-Examination Begins Sunday As Plan Needs To Take Shape

Steve Bruce has reportedly canceled the players day off tomorrow according to local reports.

Craig Hope with the Daily Mail was the first to report the news, but now other outlets are saying the same. The Chronicle also have reported that the players held a team meeting on the flight back to Newcastle after the game.

This is not a shock and needs to be be done. The display against Norwich was unacceptable.

The players understandably have kept a bit quieter after this one but will be disappointed with their performances.

This is what Paul Dummett had to say as reported in the Chronicle report:

“Every one of us has got to look in the mirror and know it’s not good enough.”

We are at a loss for words after what we witnessed today and don’t want to harp on the negatives without more games to judge Bruce on.

Steve Bruce– will be judged on results

There is still hope that Steve Bruce can turn this around. The season is only two games in and a good result can change its course very quickly.

We will need to see a much-improved performance against a very good Tottenham side who got a draw at Manchester City today. This draw ended a streak of 15 straight wins in the league for the reigning Champions.

There is admittedly little for fans to be optimistic about at the moment. The football at Norwich was quite reminiscent of four years ago under McClaren. That was a team of mismatched pieces that McClaren just couldn’t figure out how to click into place.

We have to hope that Steve Bruce can construct a plan for this squad. It starts tomorrow as the players come in on their day off. They must make the most of their time on the training pitch to get themselves sorted for Tottenham.

That is so sad. It shouldnt be coming to this.
The powers at be are letting good fans walk out on their club. They know about it so are they happy about it.
Who are they replacing the fans with?
Chinese students? Where did the club go pre season? Exactly its all a ploy man.
Whos our sponsor? Again hitting the asian market.
    For whos gain? Sports Direct.
Ashley has leached to long to our club, he is sucking the lifeforce (fans) out of the club.
Enough is Enough lets fight back.

here come all the footballing cliches, including reporting for training on Sunday. Old skool stuff from Bruce and some of his players.

This surely can’t come as a surprise to anyone, we’re gonna finish bottom this season..the players have given up already and knew the game was up when Rafa was forced out.

I think we’ll struggle to win a game all season with this clown Bruce in charge.

Rafa s the biggest miss. Bill Dave Hollins was he the Goalkeeper his brother played for Chelsea. What a complete shambles can’t see how he can turn things around. Just hope Carroll can come in and do a job.

So what is that Rafa hasn’t went into detail about the academy?

Has Ashley sold the academy building for example and is looking at scrapping it and that’s what Rafa has alluded too?

Or is it something even more sinister involving the taxman……

    Just speculation of course!

I’m sorry to say this but most Newcastle fans ain’t got a clue about football!
Ritchie and dumbest should never start as they’re technically only league 1 level. Joelinton ain’t that bad as you fickle fans slating him after only 2 games in a crappy team..

the players we need to build our team around are:

    almiron
    longstaff
    maximin?
    Joelinton?
    hayden

we look terrible in defense. we need to start to learn how to pass a ball. our midfield is too weak. our manager should be in retirement. our owner should f* off and sell more sport equipment for £2. WE NEED A TAKEOVER.
can’t believe fans still turn up, REAL SUPPORTERS DON’T SUPPORT ANYTHING THIS OWNER OWNS!!!!!!!

The truth is that it was always going to take a better manager than Steve Bruce to clean up the mess Benitez left behind. He did a lot of damage in three years in many ways.

We cannot hurt him at Newcastle so we need to hurt him where he cares, his beloved SD

It’s not unusual to lose at home to Arsenal. It’s not unusual to lose away to anyone; especially a newly promoted, young, talented, energetic and adventurous team. What was unusual was that we were never really in the game; that we haven’t been used to in the last 3 years.
That cant be just manager or tactics, can it? Not this early, surely!
For me that was more about belief, confidence and the realisation that without Benitez the players know they are half the side they were. That is what worries me the most!!

Just wait till we play Man City and Liverpool away from home. Those games have the potential to result in double figure hidings. This should help focus the minds of fans to get nasty with Ashley.

Because at the moment the protests etc have no direction and seems disjointed and fractured..to many groups with different ideas which aren’t working

We have spent some cash on Joe and Max,but people need to realise that was done to appease the fans and sell tickets, not that they were signed as great players, but thet were available and no one else wanted them.
That the slugs style, spend to keep the thick Geordies happy.
You must now know that Bruce is not the Gaffa we deserve.

Neil SB career as a manger would suggest he has no chance of turning this around! The only time he would be an upgrade would be if Brian Robson had managed us before. Like most aspects of football stats do not lie! We are in the clarts and SB will not get us out of it. I’m now looking at the fixture list and I can honestly say I really don’t know where we will get the points onboard to stay up! This will be an absolute car crash season!

Perspective may be important. We have a new manager, new players (only a few really), a tough start and unrest. It took us forever to win last year, this year may be the same. We were still thoroughly in the doo doo in Feb last season, might be again? However, this already feels worse to me, hope Iam wrong!

All those “support your team” punters must surely realise what this owner has done to our club and that we have a duty to protest and boycott until he sells up!
We have to make a sacrifice because he will just continue to run us into the ground and without a top manager we are dead and buried.
I believe an offer for the club was made and Ashley would take it if things look like getting worse!
