Defender To Give Up International Football To Concentrate On Newcastle

Paul Dummett has told Welsh International manager Ryan Giggs that he will forego playing for Wales to concentrate on playing for Newcastle.

The 27-year-old defender has had a rough time with injuries recently. He was injured playing for Wales last November in a game against Denmark.

Paul made a similar decision in 2017 when he made himself unavailable for international selection. Then Welsh manager Chris Coleman made some stern comments about Dummett’s decision at the time. This is what Chris Coleman said at the time:

“Paul Dummett doesn’t want to play international football, which is a disappointment from our point of view.

“But he has made that decision, and we have to abide by that.

“We will get on with the squad of players, the squad who want to play and represent Wales.

“There’s nothing we can do with Paul who’s decided that international football is not the path he wants to go down.

“Sometimes you have to be patient, especially because the team we have at the moment has been hugely successful.

“It is a shame because he’s a good player.

“I haven’t spoken to Paul. His agent rang me up to give me the news.

“I was disappointed, but if he doesn’t want to persevere with it, then that’s his choice. We’ve got to look after the players who want to play for us”.

Ryan Giggs seems to have taken the news a little bit better than his predecessor.

Here are some of the comments Ryan Giggs has made about Paul as published in the Chronicle:

“I spoke to Paul, and he really wanted to concentrate on club football. I think that will be it.

“He felt that he’s had a lot of hamstring problems, so he just felt he wanted to make sure he was fit for Newcastle.

“That was it really.

“I’ve got centre-halves who are playing, and I was considering him for that centre-half position, but it’s not a problem.

“Obviously he’s playing in the Premier League, and he’s a good defender, but I’ve got options, so it’s not a problem.”

Though born and bred in Newcastle, Dummett qualifies to play for Wales through one of his grandfathers. Paul has always been committed to Newcastle, and he will be so proud to be such an integral member of the squad. He has started the first two matches this season and been one of our better players.

Before judging Rafa, and I know he’s not perfect we all make mistakes, just consider his net spend in 3 years and what he achieved! Nuff said?

Or you can choose between Rafa or Jabba and his goons

Who do you think would be better suited to making us a successful team ?

There are very few match goers left on this blog.
    That is clear.
Strange we will still get more than 40,000 for Watford.

Always catches me that in an affluent society, nation, as is the United Kingdom, that we have food banks for the poor.

All voluntary and nothing given to them by the government .

A national disgrace presided over and caused by a filthy uncaring Government.

Foreign footballers, and any player helping out at a food bank, highlights poverty and the plight of the people who need to use foodbanks

I can’t help thinking players will have the thought that they have moved into a third world country and be surprised that we have foodbanks and poverty stricken families..

This is England . Food banks.

    Scandalous.

The standard of supporter at SJP goes down weekly, wont be long until its 90% day trippers and students.

We used to laugh at the Mackems for giving away tickets and Nufcaredoing exactly that to save face.

Some just cant see the wood for the baseball bat that’s smashing them in the face.

What are you trying to prove over the seats available? You sound as though you’re taking pleasure from the fact that seats are being bought. You sound as though you’re happy to cheer for Ashley. Shameful.

Why would anyone get upset about a few bad apples in a bunch that was specifically made for getting out of the championship? I very much doubt Rafa wanted to retain his squad fillers once the job was done and we were in the pl. The fact we actually still have them IS down to Ashley as he wouldn’t sanction spending the very next season so we were forced to retain the dud backups that lets face it were bought on the cheap because that’s all the money that was left out of sales.

Going on about them as if they were premier League flops is totally redundant and again smacks heavily of those trying to big up the regime.

I can go to any match I want for free, a family member has a box.

I’ve been 3 times in around 8 years to take friends from outside of the country, I didn’t spend a penny in the ground eat the meal or accept a drink, I didn’t even take the programme.

I refuse to put a penny in Ashley’s pocket and that’s where the money goes and you know it.

If the money was being reinvested in the club and we were maximising our commercial revenue I’d be there even if it was shit.

I have spent money from my own pocket having flyers and stickers made and contributed to banners and flags against Ashley and I’ve been to nearly all the protests.

I’d rather use my money against him than pay to watch him rape the club.

You’re right I no longer support the club, supporting the club is enabling Ashley to continue his tenure at Nufc.

The club is a ghost of what it was and what it could and should be, due to one mans greed.

You have chosen not to go.
What support does the club get from you now.
Now – not for the past 27 yrs.

OK – you are not like some calling those that do go still. Some much more than you.
However, you do seem happy at the prospect of fewer and fewer going.

Many want the club to fail now.
It seems they are in the majority on this blog.
They probably are. On this blog. But, not among the majority of supporters who either don’t come on here now or stay silent.

    Whatever

The reason they give away tickets is due to them wanting please the sponsors and the league
    An empty ground is embarrassing

It won’t take long for the free loaders to abandon ship with what’s on offer , you have to be a fan to sit through that

It’s the start of oblivion for the club , but all that matters to Jabba is his tat shops
