Pundit Gives Fair Assessment Of Tottenham Match

BBC Sport pundit Mark Lawrenson has given his prediction for the Newcastle at Spurs match. Unsurprisingly, he has picked Spurs to win 2-0 at home against our struggling Newcastle side.

This is what Lawro says about the match:

Tottenham are getting used to playing at home now – that usually takes a bit of time.

Meanwhile, Newcastle are still a bit all over the place. They have already lost to Norwich and Arsenal but remember, former boss Rafael Benitez had a bad start last season, and they picked things up.

Steve Bruce has made some new signings, and the fans just need to get behind the team now.

We can’t really disagree with anything the former Liverpool defender says. It’s a fair assessment of the upcoming match. However, the performance is what counts. Mark picked Newcastle to win last week at Norwich, but we were played off the pitch 3-1.

If Newcastle can put in a performance and show signs that they are starting to improve, then we would be pleased with that.

We are also curious to see how Bruce sets the team up. Will he go with a complete overhaul of the system or just make some minor adjustments?

We suppose he could be hamstrung as to what he can do if Joelinton and Allan Saint-Maximin are unavailable. However, Joelinton has resumed full training while Saint-Maximin is set to return tomorrow.

We would rather Allan not be risked for tomorrow unless he has completely recovered from his injury. Newcastle are likely to have to play very defensive on Sunday so it may be best to keep Allan fit for Wolves the following week.

I don’t see any relevance to at all to Chopra’s shortcomings in any walk of life to the shambles unfolding at our club at the moment.

Manchester United are facing a £12m bill for Alexis Sanchez’s wages this season – even if the Chile forward, 30, moves on loan to Inter Milan before next week’s European transfer deadline.

Nice work if you can get it

    Neither do I

However the comments were about attacks on Michael on social media.

I think Anfield sold out at around 60 points last season. So either people have lost interest in going or the ST holders able to buy the tickets can’t anymore.

So another pundit who is comparing Rafa season to this, again Rafa had Joselu whilst traitor Bruce has a 40 million striker.

In fact how much did Rafa get last season?

He will change his thoughts on Sports Direct united when he realise traitor Bruce formation is not a attacking 3232, it’s not even a defensive formation as his last 5 clubs will prove this!

Don’t worry though Mark, the sheeps have faith in traitor Bruce and Mike Ashley!

The players probably hated Rafa’s detailed instructions and his repetition but there was a reason he was like that as the players don’t seem to be able to figure everything out for themselves!

No opposition player was left uncovered so there were no surprises on the pitch the team would know that Norwich like to use their wingbacks to hem teams in similar to Liverpool so the 343 so there would have been tactics to counter that but Bruce didn’t change it for the whole 90 minutes!

Spurs is a big worry we could get hit for any kind of scoreline if we gift Kane the same kind of chances and space that the Norwich players had!!

Hate when we play Spurs nowadays have a lot of friends who support Spurs and they are always tagging me on Facebook after the game!

I remember when we used to spank them quite regularly under Keegan and most managers pre Ashley!!

i 100% BELIEVE THERE ARE PAID SHILLS ON HERE AS THERE IS ON tHE mAG, fb AND TWITTER, however I don’t believe for a minute that posada, Bills Son is Back or Munster is a shill, Bills is a tw@t, Munster is a bit simple and gawd knows what’s happened to posada recently, however Lilongwe is right, arguing amongst ourselves is counter productive, the paid shills are monitering these sites and will be feeding back that we’re fighting each other so all is well, no need for another ‘exclusive’ interview just yet.

I’ll tell you what happened to me.
I went to a meeting of TMG. Did not like what I saw and heard one bit.
Then you spend a couple of weeks on here watching match going supporters getting hassle from the likes of Optimistic Poison.

He’s not been to a game for 8 years. He wasn’t trotting out grief to match goers when we beat City or turned it round against Everton.

TMG have a lot to answer for.

Strangely it was our win away against Spurs in December 2015
under Steve McClaren with Ashley and KB in attendance
that granted the tufted one a reprieve into the January window

I think the point people have been making is Ashley would want his money back for the club. Sunderland are being bought for £40 million I believe, which is massively short of what Ashley would take to sell up. The best chance we have of being bought is by staying in the Premier League.

you haven’t help matters labeling a huge group of fans none fans , we’re all upset at the way things are going and we’re all trying to handle it in different ways ,

let me make this perfectly clear once and for all, i have no bad feeling towards any fans that choose to go to games that is there choice and no one has the right to stop them its a personal matter for them and them only,

on the other hand i took great exception to the accusation that because i hadn’t renew my ST i had suddenly become a none fan
in my mind a fans a fan no matter were you are in the world if you go to games thats just the cream on the cake,
i do hope we can now move on,

The arguement on here has been no wealthy investor will buy a club in league 1.
    That has been the arguement.

The clauses that ashley has newcastle united football club tangled up in is the reason NUFC does not sell.

    Repost.
Basically the blog IS unified in it’s hate and distrust of Ashley (with one or two obvious exceptions)!
The biggest difference of opinion is over the “boycott” and there will never be 100% agreement on that! Some will never go back and others (like me) would rather the protests, flags etc in the ground. An “Ashley Out” banner in the ground is, in my opinion more effective than a few empty seats as we all know where the main revenue source is!
Anyway, some of the personal insults on here are over the top and more than ”banter”!
    Howay the Lads !

Stewart Donald has actually done what Ashley hoped to do
with NUFC when he first took over – flipped the club for a profit.
Ellis Short agreed a price of £40m and wiped all debts off.
That £40m was covered by parachute payments
So Stewart Donald whose personal wealth is less than £9m
walks away with about £20 in his back poke – nice work.
