We think Steve Bruce is going to return to the line-up that started against Arsenal two weeks ago. He has hinted that Sean Longstaff may return in his press conference today. We also think that Javier Manquillo will get back into the squad.
Steve Bruce will not change the formation for the trip to Spurs as stated in his press conference this morning:
“I thought we did very very well against Arsenal for a large part of the game. So I think we can talk about formations, and this, that, and the other. But it’s you you really perform.
“We may tinker a little bit and change one or two things. I think it’s too early to start really radically changing formations. We’ve only played twice.”
We have taken the cue from this statement that Bruce may be thinking of using the same line-up he used against Arsenal. While that may be a simple-minded approach, we just have a feeling that is what he will do.
It also looks like Allan Saint-Maximin will make the trip to London. So the bench will look something like this:
Karl Darlow, Jetro Willems, Federico Fernandez, Ki Sung-yueng, Emil Krafth, Allan Saint-Maximin, and Yoshinori Muto.
