Ex-Player Responds To Bruce – Hopefully This Is The End Of It

Michael Chopra has issued the following response to Steve Bruce.

These are the comments by Steve Bruce that Chopra has responded to:

“I’m sorry, but it’s just totally wrong and lies basically. The whole thing is fabricated lies, and unfortunately, it escalates where you think, ‘Dear, oh dear. That is just totally ridiculous.’

“And this is the problem when you get people who just want to create nonsense, which, obviously, it was.”

“Who does he know? It’s absolute lies. Look, it’s lies and you all know why he is on the radio.

“You all know why he is on the radio. Newcastle legend? Played 20 times for the club. Jesus! Give me some sort of credence. If it’s Alan Shearer, yes, c’mon, bring it on.”

We don’t think Steve Bruce will respond to what Chopra has written here. At least we really hope he doesn’t. Steve Bruce went a little overboard in his comments about Michael.

However, Chopra’s claims were provocative and unnecessary. His assertions that senior players told him personally that they did not know their roles was insulting to Steve Bruce.

So Steve has hit back at those claims and gotten personal with Chopra. We feel that Bruce should not have gone as far as he did in his response as it was almost inevitable that Michael would respond. It also shows that some of the criticism aimed at him is starting to get to him.

Now that he has responded we hope this row is put to rest. Steve Bruce has more significant problems than what Michael Chopra says. While we don’t think Bruce was wrong defend himself, the manner he chose was only going to incite further conflict.

Michael Chopra may also want to focus on Mike Ashley going forward if he has to talk to the press. Steve Bruce is trying his best to get on with his job. It’s a hard enough situation for him at the moment without all of these peripheral distractions.

It is possible that we catch Spurs on the break and score the first goal. It is possible that Dubs has a worldy and we cling on to keep a clean sheet. Not the probable outcome, granted, but it’s what I’m pinning my hopes on.

We all know Bruce isn’t good enough for Newcastle. It’s difficult to argue against that fact, but then, neither was Chopra. Legend? In his own lunchtime maybe.
He wasn’t even good enough for Sunlun and take a guess who moved him out of Sunlun? Told him his services were no longer required and to find another club. Yep, it was Bruce.
Chopra, the Toon legend who tried to charge a fan for the pleasure of having a photo taken with him – £50.
This spat is ridiculous, but like I said before, who does Chopra know and why would they seek counsel from a washed up never-really-was?
A man who would seek £50 off a fan for a photo would leap at the chance of being paid by talksport to make shit up. Gambled your savings away already Chopra?
Just an opinion, but doesn’t take much working out.

    Bruce is biting already,oh dear.
Interesting to hear Ashley Barnes on FF today saying that a top 10 finish is the least they should be aiming for, and that is at BURNLEY. No disrespect at all to them , it just shows how far behind our club is under Fatso re ambition. He is happy with 17th. Shambolic

Toonboy, he is mate, yes. But there’s enough to dig at Bruce without making things up. Although if anybody from the current team knows or cares about Chopra is debatable. That said, if he does, no doubt Chopra will say who these senior players are. Give him fifty quid, hell spill the, beans! 😀

Ok, Newcastle need a sell out crowd, in this corner, Steve Cabbage Heed Bruce and in the other corner Michael I’m a Legend? Chopra.

Now that would sell out and all the proceeds go to charity, that’s right Mike, charity.

Could the link between Chopra and his criticisms of Bruce be one Jack Caldwell who’ll be a very unhappy bunny at being shown the door at SJP?

I thought they’d taken account of Caldwell and other unwanted players contracts and if so, why can’t they just bladder him, get rid.

Watching Norwich v Chelsea is interesting. The Canaries are lively, playing neat 1-2 tiki takka in tight spaces. Each player seems to “know his role” and they bite hard when necessary. I know it’s early days, but there’s a mentality on display for the yellow and green. Makes you wonder what our actions on the pitch are saying. As always, HWTL against Spurs, integrity and grit is a must. Pace. Determination. Fortitude.

I hope it is on display.

‘The divisions between MPs (Brexit excepted) are not driven by
someone with an agenda but merely a reflection of folks different

Most MPs, particularly the Tory ones are in the pay of lobbyists and why do lobbyists pay MPs? Ah yes, they pay MPs so they can afford to buy the essentials that you and I take for granted.

Don’t ask for examples – I’ve got better things to do with my time than keep you occupied.

Lesh, Colback? If its come from Colback then nobody should take a blind bit of notice matey. He was given his chance in preseason and failed. Another one with an axe to grind and therefore its hearsay at best, because he wasn’t on the flight let alone the pitch. 🙂 So at best he’s repeating, but that’s not what Chopra said. He claimed he’d spoken to senior players – plural – who told him this and that.
If players had anything to say I’m sure they’d say it – Muto said he felt isolated, he didn’t go through some rent a gob.
This is all background noise nobody needs. If Chopra had criticised Rafa for negative tactics, people on here would crucify him – and rightly so.

Bruce has bit hard on the comments by chopra lol. Maybe some element of truth and have hit home. He even had to or got someone to find out his appearance and goal stats lol.

Doesn’t surprise me if players not sure of their role or little work on shape etc. Seems to be the case already on the pitch looking on as a fan. After all we know about the comments made by Bruce about tactics.

Norwich looking defensively fragile again against a pass and move side the keeps it on the ground. Unlike our hoof it to a (not)target-man approach.

Chops did seem a little desperate when he called him a liar for saying it was 20 instead of 21. Saying he played over 20 times was a bit ridiculous too, hoping people think it’s more than that.

He also called what he had said “an opinion” which leads me to think Chops is the one lying while I do believe his heart is in the right place.

Hearing rumours that might be true then embellishing them to say a current player told you as fact, when he doesnt know a single player on the team personally, is just lying.

Hes not wrong and his heart is in the right place but he shouldn’t be claiming things as fact just to make what he knows seem more believable.

The truth will come shining to the fore with Bruce in no time at all, Chops doesn’t need to go down this route.

Puki is going to be sold to somone in January for 40-50M, possibly even Chelsea if they are not still on a transfer ban. No way Norwich will be able to hold on to him, and he just looks too good for somone not to come in for him.

    Greg Downs

Former Norwich defender on BBC Radio Norfolk

“Defensively Norwich aren’t reacting to Chelsea’s attacks, they seem to let it happen and then react to it too late. They had all summer to sort this out and they keep conceding the same kind of goals.”

Against teams that have done their homework, of course.

A patriotic Newcastle man is no good to us if he makes himself look dumb by lying in the press. Also he wasnt very patriotic the way he celebrated scoring for Sunderland against Newcastle, neither was he patriotic when he asked a fan for £50 for the privilege of taking a photo in the street. Thats disgusting to treat your hometown fans like that.

Chops is not the kind of person we need standing up for the club. He lies and makes us all look stupid.

There you go, a bit of movement behind Hanley and you get a shooting opportunity and score. We didn’t do it once against them. Instead we had Almrion coming deep to pick up. It’s these logically incoherent tactical decisions that bother me as much as anything. Supposedly playing this formation to control midfield and get best out of Shelvey, then tell both your forward men to play with their back to goal.

Hibbit…..Bruce is 100% guilty and what chops is saying may even have truth to it, but making up stories and lies just to get your point across is not what we need.

Its obvious that Chops hasn’t the got highest grade of moral compass out there. If hes going to speak then have it be the truth.
