Local Lad Wins Man Of The Match In Reader’s Poll

The count is in and it’s Paul Dummett who is the leading vote getting in our Man of the Match poll for the win against Tottenham. Paul won quite handily with 48% of the vote as he collected 683 of the 1,426 total votes.

This seems like it was a wise selection as Paul also won the award from Sky Sports. Here are some of the local lad’s statistics from the game on Sunday.

Here is Paul having a bit of joke with the warm-up controversy from last week. I guess it worked out against Tottenham.

Dummett’s performance was truly inspired and he deserves all of the plaudits he’s received. The whole team also deserves praise for the excellent reaction on Sunday. We hope it sets a foundation for the future, starting with the cup match against Leicester City on Wednesday.

When you think of the dramatic about face in our performance you also have to factor in we were making our first appearance at the new Tottenham Stadium. For sure that would have quite naturally lit a fire under the players. Stunning football stadium, state of the art, against tip top opposition. It’s not exactly a visit to Carrow Road. We need to replicate that intensity week in week out, but it won’t always be so easy to generate.

There seems to be a lot of new names posting on here

Where you all from London? Ashleys multiple user name mates spouting sh*te and lies?

The Text’s to Steve Wraith are real ..so get real
    Andy was forced out

Cant you all see what’s going to happen time and time again ?

No good hanging your hat on any player because soon as any of the so called big 5 come knocking then they will be sold. 100% true .

So we will Remain as a mid table club never going anywhere other than the odd skirmish with relegation from season to season. That’s all you have to look foreward to now .

With one transfer Ashley has ripped the heart out of the belief of the other players that the club was going somewhere ..One transfer makes the statement that we are going nowhere and kills the hopes of the fans and the players.

In the summer a Big offer from Chelsea will see
Tiote gone Another offer from Man U will see Enrique gone Ashley will not refuse big offers for our players ..Never !!

We don’t have a club now or at least a club that is going places ..we are going nowhere but down .

Ashley is only into making as much profit he can on any player to get his money back

This club is just a cash cow for the Fat Man.

And all the false multiple posters on here in support of Ashley , No doubt his little press freind’s and company lackeys Backing him up here do me favour and FU*k off ..we can see right through you ..

Andy Carrol was forced out for the money.
They told him he had to go.
They wanted the MONEY !! This one transfer has RIPPED THE GUTS out of the club and the fans.

    KEVIN KEEGAN WAS RIGHT

COME ON KEV PUT A CONSORTIUM TOGETHER.
YOU HAVE FRIEND’S IN THE MIDDLE EAST.

    THEY ONCE BOUGHT
NEWCASTLE A NEW TEAM BUS ..LETS GET ON BOARD WITH THEM !

The Casino kings are here to make a profit for themselves …

They don’t understand the feeling up here and are bereft of the feeling for our history

    KEVIN KEEGAN CONSORTIUM PLEASE .

Atsu was certainly impressive. Nice close control, turned into space very very well, shook off his marker, a fast and willing runner going both ways, and you’re right jib, he did play with his head up.

He still doesn’t hit a firm ball though. It’s like he’s playing in size three boots. Surely they can improve that in training. If he could ping a pass and a cross, get a firm strike in on goal, he’d be a real little gem of a player for us.

It’s funny about Atsu. When he was at Porto and for Ghana around the same time he could strike a ball really well could Atsu. Since he went to Chelsea and went on numerous loans, he seems to have lost that which is a shame.

He always loved cutting in from the right back then, either shooting hard towards goal or curling it far post.

Think Atsu was getting a fair bit space against Spurs at times. Maybe more useful when counter attacking. Not sure he can get through a packed defence. Pace is less useful when you have two or three men in front of you.

Hang on Munster let’s get your story straight for you – you don’t think our coach should be aiming for a cup or a European place is that right? So you are saying he really doesn’t have to achieve anything to prove his worth to you? That sounds suspiciously right out of Mikes mission statement.

Shouldn’t we be demanding that kind of return to success? Are you advocating mike’s mediocrity model now in order to be a genuine fan? Wow you are making complete sense. 😐

And speaking of lying you can track back and see how i said i hope the lads succeed despite Ashley and his hole-digging mutt. It’s not the players I’m bothered about you sparse-witted clod. It’s Ashley, his plan to set us in concrete and half-baked Cro magnons like you who lump wild and ranging accusations together into a clueless mass. Who are you trying to impress? Your kid? I think that bus left the station mate – with you selling it he’s bound to be a Scouser. 😀

    Sportsdirect.com seeks growth in France

The UK sports retailer has announced that it seeks growth in France. Frank Odier, France’s representative, has confirmed that it will be taking over Sport 2000 in the shopping centre Evry 2. The boutique opening is scheduled for May. This will be the retailers third store in France. In 2009 it opened its Fresnes’ location and this last April it inaugurated its second store in Herblay. “Two more stores should open in the Parisian region: on in October this year and the other by the beginning of 2012”, announces Frank Odier.

What a surprise they expand through France first?

Posted this as it’s been said that it’s only a UK based store, try and be factual in future

Hi everyone! Ed and/or Neil may sometimes miss your questions/suggestions to them, as they don’t normally comb through the comments sections on a daily basis. I try to read through the comments each evening to gauge the temperature of the blog, catch any issues and if I see specific questions directed at Ed/Neil, I will let them know and try to get answers/resolutions so I can report back.

That said, someone earlier wanted to know about the gravatars and if Ed had requested that you all have one. Not sure on the answer to that, but I’ll look into it. Personally, I like the gravatars, as it helps me get to know you all better when I have a picture to put with the name. 🙂

EGB, just for the record. I didn’t “heart” manxpie’s post as suggested . I did “heart” your response and I did “heart” that pesky Ronaldo’s skullduggery 😀
