Almiron, Atsu, Joelinton, Lascelles, And Schar All Doubts For Leicester

Steve Bruce has given his press conference for the Leicester City match this morning and it is not good news for those hoping he will field a strong side.

This is what Craig Hope reported just before the press conference began.

This news was confirmed by Steve Bruce during his press conference. Here are some tweets by Chris Waugh about the current injury situation.

We certainly don’t want any players to be risked if they are feeling any ill effects from Sunday. However, it is going to be a big ask for against Leicester with what will be weakened side.

However, there will be some who have yet to play a part this season that will be very motivated to impress.

the recurrence of Saint-Maximin injury suggests a very cautious approach should be adopted this time another slip could lead to a long term injury,

Muto needs to start up front but with a formation that is going to get the best out of him! We are actually really light in the wide forward departments if we are going to keep up this formation so maybe Aarons can get drafted in for the cup ties?

Manquillo and Willems as the wingbacks has to be they both need to keep getting game time

Two extra points on the table after 3 games in my calculations.. i had thought of 1 point at Norwich.. You could argue that the penalty not given to Kane, would have me spot on regarding points.

    Regarding the cup..
Well.. my prediction before the season was out in first or second game played.. Looks like first game regarding to this one tomorrow.

    Dubs
    Krafth. Fernandez. Clarck. Willems
    Hayden. Shelvey. Ki. Longstaff. Ritchie
    Muto

With all the injuries in mind, i guess this could be the starting Line up. 4-5-1… Not a good team, and my guess is 0-3.

The poor chap is gonna get crucified if he doesnt put out a strong team, bit unfair because 5-6 of them can’t be ready for another match already. That was a brutally hard game they played not even 2 days ago.

In this instance I think it would be stupid to risk anyone who’s not 100%, I’d give him s free pass with this one and if we win we win, if we loose we loose. No sense in being stupid about it.

I presume you can use players outside the 25 man squad so I guess we could even see ginger Jack as well as Aarons?

How can Bruce say it wasn’t a gamble when ASM has already been injured? If that wasn’t a gamble then Paul Mersons not a gambler.

I think we’ll win on Wednesday, but it’ll be a scrappy match. Perez to start, but he’s generally inconsistent in the first half of the season, though we know he’ll be defending from the front and creating space for whoever plays up with him.

He hasn’t taken his goalscoring form of the end of last season into the new season (once more) – interesting little habit of his, which I’m quite pleased we’re not having to witness at close hand this season. Great player on his day, but the first half of the season has always been his weak point.

Can’t see them starting Vardy who is at the stage of his career where he doesn’t want to be starting two games in one week.

Looks like our team will be significantly weakened from the Spurs match, which if necessary is fine, but will be derided by some.

I’d far rather see Matty Longstaff come into the team than Ginger Jack. He, with his brother, is the future and Colback isn’t even the past.

Ron…..Because he stated in the past he was gonna put out strong teams in the cup. If he doesnt put out a strong team now (despite the obvious and valid reasons he has to opt against it) there will be people like #Boycottashley who will abuse him on here for it.

The guy can’t win, I don’t like him neither do i think hes s great manager but hes all we have, and I think it’s so wrong the abuse hes getting the past month. I just wish people would give him a fair chance, hes going to fail and it’s not going to work out, but it’s just flat out wrong the way hes being treated by his own supporters.

After two full seasons of being back in the PL, the eighth richest club in that division, we’re celebrating a win at a big six club like the way Wigan celebrated beating Man City in the cup. We won away at Spurs under McLaren and we know how that season went. It may have been a great win but we still have Mike Ashley running the club as he sees fit, which isn’t very fit at all. Will Joelinton’s replacement be bought before he’s sold. We’re going in to another season thinking staying up will be a good result, just as we will next season. Enjoy it while you can but one result doesn’t alter the fact.

The next Mike Williamson – It did seem an unnecessary risk with ASM – obviously we couldn’t have expected the fabulous result we got but it would have seemed more logical to give him another week and save him for the Watford game which we must be targeting as a home win.

I’ve no problem with playing young players as when we’ve played our strongest team in the past, they were dismal anyway. Trouble is we don’t have any youths ready to play except Matty. Who else might get a run out?

Steve Bruce tells @bbcnewcastle: “We’ve a few injuries. The main one is Saint-Maximin. We’re disappointed because he DID train all week – we didn’t just throw him in (at Spurs); we thought there was no risk… he looked sharp in training and that’s why we picked him.” #NUFC

Ron……. literally half the people on here will criticise him like morons. They font have the sense to see that it’s just the smart option and his hands are genuinely tied, tied because of the monumental win they had last sunday it should be noted.

But its already starting, Boycottashley is already at it, making himself look like a Dullard as usual.

I just feel bad for him he proved everyone wrong won the match and people still say shit like it was Rafas tactics that won the game. That’s just flat out wrong. People on here need to be man enough to admit they were wrong.

Jail, we’re (most of us at least) very much aware that the club is in a frankly terrible state behind the scenes and some of us are determined to do something about it.

The victory on Sunday was to a great extent papering over the cracks in the edifice, as were the signings we made this Summer. We know that the foundations of the club need repairing before those cracks can be addressed and before the club can once more live up to its true potential.

On the other hand, Sunday’s victory was the result of an immense, gritty, hard-fought and backs-to-the-wall performance (which I know and appreciate you witnessed first hand) and has alleviated some of the gloom for a few days at least.

Let’s enjoy it for what it was, like when you go to an anniversary party when you know the couple have had problems. It’s a bit of a facade, but enjoyable none the less and hopefully the sign of things to come.

After such a draining game on Sunday, it would be sensible to change the line up. I don’t think we should get on the managers back about making changes in these circumstances. The fact that we don’t have a decent squad isn’t down to him. It’s the parasites fault.

Martoon that’s actually a great question. Does anyone know whether we can use players outside the 25 msn man squad for cup games.

It be nice if we could but my guess is we cant, and we just have to use the 25 we announced for the squad.

Colback Lazaar Sterry Saivet are all still on the books
and could do with a shop window.
Bruce may want to have a look at Ludwig Francillette a CB
of young forwards there’s Luke Charman and Yannick Touré

    The three best young ‘uns
Dan Barlaser ,Liam Gibson and Kelland Watts are all loaned out

I thought Joleon Lescott explained the penalty incident perfectly. Kane was trying to lean on Lascelles, but because Lascelles fell over there was nothing to support him. Hence, no penalty. What was the referee’s decision and VAR decision? What was the final score?

Either way I’m just as entitled to say what I feel about others as they are about Bruce, I also didnt tell anyone to stop or they couldn’t say anything. I just think it’s a miserable and very narrow minded attitude to have to still be slating the poor man when he does well. No decent person does that jail.

I would not pick a single player who played on Sunday.
All must get ready for Watford then a chance to re group during international break.
    Saivet, Muto and Clark.
All internationals on serious money. Use them.

Will he be able to get a team performance out of them. Well he should. They should have started to prepare for Leicester 5/6 days ago. The players that are to be used should have been put on notice of that, subject to variables that come along.

Should take no planning to tell Willens to play LWB.

Should a club play the same way at all levels. First team squad, U23’s and others.

    Probs not a bad idea.

Expecting several changes for tomorrow’s match and even if we had played a strong team Leicester is a seriously difficult draw it couldn’t have been that much more difficult. The talent Leicester have in the squad is superior to ours unfortunately.

Had he had more quality in the squad in terms of depth, then a cup run may have been on. One persons fault for that lack in squad depth.

However I fear we’ll end up drawing Liverpool or city third round of the fa cup.
